13 writers putting pen to paper, 65 musicians composing pieces inspired by their writing, and 26 visual artists tying everything together with a cover illustration. From April 23rd to May 13th, 2023, these 104 creatives came together with one goal: to tell a story. The result amounted to thirteen beautiful tracks, rich with emotion, excitement, and wonder.

Stories take on infinitely many forms. A child's drawing. A home-cooked meal. A recount of the day given by someone returning home to their spouse. They do not have to be written, nor spoken with any amount of poetry or decorative language; they simply exist. Here's to the stories we tell. Whether written, drawn, or sang, whether a fantastic fable or a solemn look into the human experience, they all carry weight. We have no greater obligation than to simply tell them in whatever way we know how. 

All proceeds from Storybook: Chapter 2 will be donated to Active Minds, an organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults.

Here it is.... the 3rd chapter of #HeavenTrap Music!!!! This moment.... marks a great step forward for our community. This song came to be in a very inspiring way. About a month ago we went on Soundcloud and searched the tag "Heaven Trap".... to our surprise we saw tons of you guys are making it!! It was truly amazing to see, and we can't thank you guys enough for supporting our sound. One of these tracks was made by Party Thieves, and it stood out strongly amongst the rest. That moment we hit him up for stems because we wanted to edit his track for our live show.... he replied and sent over the pieces. As we were working we realized he had pitched up the entire track up for his version and it wasn't exactly what we had in mind to play out. We then wrote him back to let him know that we wouldn't be able to use any of his stems for our version, but that we would still add him as a collaborator on the track. We really want to support artists making this sound.... so we felt this would be a great way to boost up a very talented up-n-comer. We remember the day our manager came into our studio aka drew's living room apartment to show us this new band he was going to sign to Disruptor Records. The first record he played us was this tune Overload and we were hooked! We had never heard of them before but we proceeded to listen to 10 more songs of theirs and we were blown away. Their sound was so refreshing from the instruments to their vocals. There was a summertime quality to all their music that couldn't be denied. Flash forward a couple months and we had the chance to meet them in LA. We proceeded to do what any dudes meeting for the first time would do, we through a mansion party at a buddies got totally blackout and missed the call time for what was our Let You Go music video. Flash even more forward and Overload is taking over top40 and they are about to drop their next single Dreams! The boys were cool enough to let us take a shot a remixing overload and putting our touch on it. The song itself is already just so amazing and vibey... its like drinking coconut water on a beach while getting a foot rub and someone somewhere else transferring large sums of money into your bank acct. SO we figured why change that and just change the foot rub to a back massage and money to a kiss from a chick you really are into but didn't know she was also into you.... So without further adieu... our remix of Overload!

For all who know me, I'm a huge empath.  The world around us falls apart or reveals the cracks in the facade being held up to shelter those more privileged like myself, but I still carry the weight of everything that I see or hear about the current state of societal collapse (at least to the best of my capacity).

With all of the protests, the murder, the 24-hour news cycle, the tear gas, the pepper spray, the rubber bullets, climate change, and a deadly novel coronavirus beating at the door, it would be hard for anyone to keep their head up instead of being crushed by the misery and pain. The best way I communicate these things are through my music, and I felt compelled to share something I've created from the experience of living through our present and tragic blip in history.

I would never in my life have the ability to truly understand the trials and injustice that black and brown people experience every day in America and all over the world, but if there's a way for me to reach others through art or to use my platform to spread attention or knowledge of our fight for progressive change, I not only feel obliged, but proud to help lift the voices of black and brown people in my life.  I hope that one day we can see a new and better world together!
