Entrevista:
La primera vez que oí hablar de Deenamic fue en 2019, cuando un cliente me pidió su primer disco recién publicado en el sello madrileño Freebeat. No recuerdo quién fue, pero sí que estaba flipado con ese disco. Ahora que lo reescucho, si me dicen que es de un productor de Detroit, me lo creo perfectamente. No volví a saber de Deenamic hasta hace unos meses, cuando vino a la tienda con Aiken, quien me lo presentó. Compraron unos discos y charlamos. Más adelante Breixo Martínez de Canela En Surco compartió cabina con él en El Molino en Barcelona y me comentó que el set de Deenamic fue brutal y que me hubiese encantado. Al cabo de poco salió su EP en el sello Mate que también es guapísimo y se ve de nuevo la clara influencia por el house de Detroit mas jazzy. Finalmente su reciente EP en Syncrophone que se adentra en territorios más technoides me hizo pensar en pedirle un mix para esta serie.

-Cuéntanos un poco sobre ti.
Mi nombre real es David Pradera, conocido artísticamente como Deenamic soy Dj y productor nacido y residente en Madrid. Mi relación con la música empezó hace años, escuchando cintas grabadas de Hip Hop y CDs que traía mi tío durante sus años como profesor en Estados Unidos. Creo que sin darme cuenta, a través de los samples que usaban esas producciones estaba en contacto con géneros como el Jazz o el Soul sin realmente ser consciente de ello y supongo que de ahí viene mi orientación y gusto musical hacia esos estilos que son el fundamento de toda la música contemporánea que escucho hoy en día. Más adelante en un viaje familiar al Reino Unido descubrí un CD llamado The Other Day (1997) de Jeff Mills que me abrió la mente hacia otros sonidos como el Techno y el House. Desde los años 2000 he estado vinculado a la escena underground madrileña, experimentando con distintos estilos hasta encontrar mi propio camino sonoro.

-Cuándo te interesaste por la música electrónica y cuál fue tu interés al principio?
Mi interés por la electrónica comenzó de forma más consciente tras ese descubrimiento en el Reino Unido. Ese disco fue un punto de inflexión, porque me hizo ver la electrónica no solo como música de club, sino como un lenguaje creativo lleno de matices. Al principio me atraían especialmente el Techno y el House que llegaban en esa época a Madrid, que me parecían universos nuevos y muy ricos en cuanto a ritmo y sonido. Con el tiempo y aunque ya los había descubierto viviendo en Londres, me acerqué al Drum&Bass y al BrokenBeat, estilos que ampliaron mi visión y terminaron influyendo mucho en mi forma de entender la producción.

-Cuándo empezaste a pinchar y a producir?
Comencé a involucrarme en la escena underground de Madrid aproximadamente entre 2003/2004, pinchando en pequeños espacios y explorando diferentes estilos. La producción llegó un poco más tarde cuando empecé a sentir la necesidad de expresar mi propio sonido (creo que empecé con una copia que me pasaron de Propellerhead Rebirth y Reason). En 2012 publiqué mi primer disco en vinilo bajo otro alias (ARP-1) en Goodlooking Records, sello de Drum&Bass del mítico LTJ Bukem. Años después, ya como Deenamic, enfoqué mi producción hacia un Deep House ...

Fresh techno from the Lowlands by two veterans of the Utrecht scene. Quince made his debut 20 years ago on the renowned Delsin label, while Sayne is the latest alias of DJ, producer and label owner Nuno Dos Santos.

All three tracks are built around a single initial idea. Both producers expanded the idea independently, before coming together to forge the final result. The title track Orange has a nice Detroit vibe with its shuffle rhythms and bouncing rimshots, while Klonneplein 1 (an Amsterdam square all too familiar to visitors of a populair techno party) navigates the wobbly bridge between Sterac and Andy Stott. The closing track Work is one for sweaty basements, where bass lines tug viciously at your trouser legs. Raw, distorted jakbeat in a frayed techno jacket.

If you like to lose yourself, this sixth EP on the NOWHERE label is a good place to start.

“Music has determined the kind of person I am,” explains Madrid's Aiken. Born in the 80's, Aiken started to delve into electronic music after hearing a mixtape. Together with his friends, he began going to record shops every weekend, listening to music and amassing flyers from the different parties happening at that time even though he was still too young to actually attend them. To him, electronic music was not only a passion, but a lifestyle.
Now of age, he’s given up the hobby of gathering flyers, instead choosing to focus solely on collecting records and producing music.
With his first appearance on Exium's label Suspiria Digital, he caught the attention of another Madrilene, Svreca, who offered Aiken his first vinyl release on his imprint Semantica Records in 2011. This was followed by a steady stream of quality techno EPs on labels such as Lycaon and M_Rec, where he was remixed by none other than one of his all-time heroes: Regis.
Balance is a key concept for Aiken: something you can feel it in his DJ sets but also in his productions, in which he sees an opportunity to express what he experiences - from new cities to new encounters.
“When you are mixing records, you are the engine of the night,” says Aiken. He’ll use that engine to drive you right out of your mind.
