Co-founder of Norway’s future-facing Ute crew, Ekkel (Teo Bachs) has a front-row seat in the cockpit on their psychedelic flavoured quest. From their woodland beginnings they’ve staked a claim to freedom through music and community, and expanded to include brick and mortar club nights and a self-titled label for the release of their magnetic and mysterious techno sounds. Forest-bath electronics that take stock of Scandinavia’s ambient tradition and cross-pollinate it with a measure of acid, trance and midnight sun. Teo’s own steadily rising number of productions (side project H25 included) has fleshed out Ute’s vision with a personal twist, and there’s another three scheduled for the fall. The past few years too have seen him hard at work exploring the possibilities of sound in a lonely cabin as part of Solar Alliance, collaborating with S.O.N.S on Korean label Junction Forest and producing many more unreleased tracks, some of which you’ll hear here first for a very special number. It’s a wormhole trip that marches headlong from the shadows, shimmering and physical beats that heave and swell, tribal breaks that flit from track to track and build a cathartic mood that harks back to Ute’s woodland roots. Fresh techno from the Lowlands by two veterans of the Utrecht scene. Quince made his debut 20 years ago on the renowned Delsin label, while Sayne is the latest alias of DJ, producer and label owner Nuno Dos Santos.

All three tracks are built around a single initial idea. Both producers expanded the idea independently, before coming together to forge the final result. The title track Orange has a nice Detroit vibe with its shuffle rhythms and bouncing rimshots, while Klonneplein 1 (an Amsterdam square all too familiar to visitors of a populair techno party) navigates the wobbly bridge between Sterac and Andy Stott. The closing track Work is one for sweaty basements, where bass lines tug viciously at your trouser legs. Raw, distorted jakbeat in a frayed techno jacket.

If you like to lose yourself, this sixth EP on the NOWHERE label is a good place to start.

Jerical returns for the sixth EP entry to his highly regarded label with 'Earthly Pleasures.' Once again he shows his production quality by bringing his revered experience to the forefront, following a previous releases on Pfirter's MindTrip, Ricardo Garduno's Illegal Alien, Zadig's Construct Re-Form, Oliver Rosemann's Recorded Things, and Tar Hallow.

"Macrocosm" kicks off proceedings with stomping, mechanical percussion, modular bleeps jam and a jackin' vibe ready to take on the dance floor.

Second on offer, "Astral Voyage" has a more hypnotic sound, with dystopian sonics swaying over a raw rhythm, and spaced-out groove.

"Danger Zone" is next up, where phasing pulses swirl over a throbbing kick for an intense, analogue workout.

Closing is "Journey Home," with its standout, bouncing acid lead that subtly morphs in all the right places, while the skipping rides and hi-hats create an awesome machine-funk.
