Life on Planets is a duo that met in the studio lofts of their east coast hometown, whereby a collaboration fusing indie artrock and electronic music began to take shape. It was a pairing of two dramatically different personas, merging as one for a serendipitous, romantic sound that's now been signed to the Double Standard label.

Life On Planets have recently released an EP 'A Public Affair' which has been hugely popular with 25000 listens on soundcloud in just two weeks! The group have been signed to the label Wolf + Lamb which is home to the likes of Soul Clap, No Regular Play, Deniz Kurtel, Slow Hands, Wolf + Lamb, Voices of Black and more!      

To celebrate the success of this EP, Life On Planets have done a mix for DJ Mag which you can listen to below. The mix has some really cool tracks in it and great smooth transitions, our highlight of the mix is when the Hot Chip remix of Foals - My Number is introduced.

HEART & SOUL 13 A New Light: Different Moods Set Off New Beginning
The original impulse for my Heart & Soul mixtape series is to explore lush, feminine sensibilities, atmospheres inspired by working on fashion shows. 
Conceived with pleasure in mind, these funky emotional soundtracks soldering eclectic selections and ecstatic outbursts connect the catwalk with distant balearic emotions, a naive and sensual hedonistic vision. 
After twelve volumes I felt it was the perfect time to push the envelope further and close a coherent chapter in order to figure out new spins on the dj mix to consume at home.
Music mutates constantly, as a dj you’re merely relying on what's around, new releases and what you can get your hands onto. Going forward is necessary if you want to avoid repeating yourself and keep creativity running. It's time to engage in different avenues and insights, channel some more abstract sounds and face new challenges.

Named after the year that 'Disco sucks' and they we're burning records in the streets, Romanian Andrei Idu, or 'The Legendary 1979 Orchestra' was infact born in the mid eighties. Now a resident of Utrect Andrei is responsible for some of our most played edits on Dinner City Sounds. His new label 'Legendary Sound Research' (can you see the theme forming) seems to be going from strength to strength and his productions have earned him vinyl releases on Nurvous, Silhouette and Shanti Records. 

He's very kindly answered a few questions and provided us with an hour and twenty minutes of sonic, vinyl only, love.His intentions are made very clear from the get go, its going to be funky and its going to be heavy, you will want to dance, dont be alarmed. You can tell by the tracklist that he has his own identity as a DJ, he plays what he likes and isnt out to regurgitate the 20 most popular recent tracks. Which although this sounds obvious, its not as common as you might think. What begins as a selection of deep cuts of raw house eventually walks backwards through time to a more classic disco aesthetic. Personified by the arrival of Lazare Hoche - Edit A and our personal highlight, Gary's Gang - Let's Lovedance Tonight (Jacques Renault Edit).

Starting his career spinning records in the nineties, Larse very quickly made a
Name for himself in Germany. Bagging a residency with his first DJ gig at the Tanzcafe
In his hometown of Dortmund, his skills on the decks caught the attention of 1LIVE Radio
(Europe’s biggest youth radio station and Germany’s equivalent to BBC Radio One) who gave
Him his own show. Larse hosted 1LIVE „Klubbing“ alongside Mike Litt for over 15 years, earning
him a nomination for the German Dance Award, many loyal followers well as national and
International bookings along the way.
But it was Larse’s move into producing that really kicked things off. His 2011 release ‚The More I
Want‘ was picked by big names such as Jamie Jones and Tale of Us became a huge hit with Ibiza
clubbers. His first EP ‚Nightshift‘ on Noir Music followed shortly awards and within a few months
Larse reached the coveted number one spot of the all important Beatport Top 100 for the first
time with ‚So Long‘, also released on Noir Music.
His timeless remix for legendary Soul & Gospel singer Candi Staton, released on Defected
Records reached the Beatport number one spot again and brought him his first Gold Record in
Belgium. Intensive touring ensued with gigs at the world’s top clubs including Fabric/ London,
Sankeys/ Manchester, Polar Lounge/ NYC and Booom/ Ibiza to name only a few.
Now Larse is by no means resting on his laurels. He has already followed up with some high
profile remixes on Exploited, Peppermint Jam, Glitterbox, Eskimo Recordings, Capitol Records
and many more. With over 15 Mio plays in total, 130k monthly listeners he also has reached a
solid base on Spotify.
In 2020 Larse started the Year with the Italo-like „We Were Young“ on Musumeci’s Multinotes
Imprint, his new EP featuring Charlie Sputnik on Peppermint Jam and Remixes for Tender Games,
Orbital Drum System and a special Remix Treatment for Jazzanova coming in November.
