My album is a story of triumph, of letting go of all the uncertainty in my head and learning to walk the path of my own heart. “Sincerely” is about realizing how much better this world would be if we all loved ourselves, if we weren’t afraid of being vulnerable and honest. It doesn’t matter who’s president or what technology we invent or what extremists we destroy, the only thing I know is this:

This might quite possibly be my favorite track on the EP. 

I woke up in the middle of the night, thinking to myself that "Discovery" would be a suitable name for my EP. However, when I started working on ideas for the title track, nothing seemed to quite work out. So I decided to challenge myself and sample something in my kitchen and turn it into a pluck. I ended up filling a cognac glass with water, until it sounded somewhat close to a B note, and then hit it with a mallet. This is what I ended up using as a starting point for "Discovery".

Lapalux bathes your brain in lush textures, surprising and explosive atmospheres set in unencountered, unearthly spaces, all somehow perfectly set against catchy rolling choruses informed by pop and commercial R&amp;B. On the "When You're Gone" EP he channels and refines his sound and shapes it into hazy, woozy emotion. Whether working with a singer like Py (on "Moments"), or deconstructing found samples and his own voice, Howard stretches, bends and warps sound to make soul - not plastic posturing but real emotion made of synthetic sound.

Throughout my life, as a Nigerian born and raised in Inglewood, California I have always been an underdog. Whether from peers, or the eyes of society, to being picked on in elementary school because of my first name Chibuike, which means GOD is my strength, to dealing with racism, stereotypes, hatred, and social prejudices as an adult. I wrote this song as a reminder that LOVE IS PURE, and knows no evil. This is an ode to our creator celebrating life in love. Through my trials and tribulations, my daily bread, and sins of my ancestors, I will overcome.
