Inspired by the burgeoning Psy-Trance scene of Cape Town, Nano Records was born in 2000 as an international voice for South African producers.  Over the years Nano Records has expanded into one of the top Psy-Trance labels on the international scene and is now home to artists from around the world.  A global label with deep roots in Africa.

A lot has changed and developed over these last 16 years.  Not only does the SA Psy scene now have a wide range of world renowned DJs & Producers, but also has massively successful Decor Artists, Visionary Artists & Festival gatherings.  The scene in South Africa continues to grow and morph, at times influenced by the international Psy scene, at other times dancing to the beat of its own drum.

In celebration of this we have collected a taste of music and art from some (and this really is only 'some' - as there are many more flavours) of South Africa's top Psy-Trance producers and Visionary Artists.  So prepare yourself for a strong dose of South African Psychedelics!

AINUR a.k.a. EL Santo aka Dj MAD (Chile)

After more than 15 years behind the decks, dj Mad decided to create his own music under the name of Ainur, in 2007.

In Chile, Mad was one of the most respected Djs and promoters of the Trance scene, having on his career the chance to share stage with artists as Infected Mushroom, Talamasca, Yahel, Swarup, Protoculture, James Monro, Eat Static, Shane Gobi, Quadra, Perplex, Alien Project, Atomic Pulse, Arkanoydz, X-Dream, The Commercial Hippies, Penta, and many more.

Mad was part of the line up in parties and festivals in southamerica, like Earthdance Chile, Moonbow Festival (Argentina), Love Parade (Chile), Moonflower Festival (Argentina), Montemapu (Chile) or Club Noize (Peru)

His music (as Ainur) has been released in several record labels, such as Naturall Productions (Belgium), Ovnimoon Records (USA), Geomagnetic Records (USA), Goa Records (USA), Icarus Creations (Germany) and Platipus Records (UK). Recently, his remix from the inmortal Union Jack´s "Red Herring" (Platipus Records, 2011) has been selected by Paul Oakenfold for the Full on Fluoro 008 mix.

Since 2010 he is established in The Netherlands, making the connection with the european electronic scene.
