Welcome to my  instrumental and covers page. My music of originals has been described as dark and sinister because my ideas are inspired by horror films such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween; Hills have Eyes, Wrong Turn and Friday 13th. It has always been my dream to break in to the film industry, playing my music behind great horror films. One day.

I grew up listening to all styles of music from Country to Rock and Roll.  I am  influenced by idols such as Tony Iommi and George Lynch, Tracey G (former dio guitarist), Joe Satriani, Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath, Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Saxon. The list of favourite bands and inspirations goes on.

 I began playing the guitar because of my father’s influences when I was 7 years old. My father has also played in bands all his life. I still listen to all sorts of music today from country music and classic rock to new age metal, classical and Spanish music. When I met AC/DC and Dokken, I won a guitarist competition and saw the guys backstage. It was superb, then to go on stage with the band was nerve racking but it turned out to be the best experience of my life! Especially as it was at Wembley arena stage in front of 12,500  fans! Although it was a bit daunting, it was ace for me. I still can’t believe I got to meet the ultimate guitarist George Lynch of Dokken. He is the most amazing player. I’ve always loved his style and meeting him backstage was awesome for me. He was so friendly and certainly not big headed like some bands get. I don’t understand why they act that way as after all, we are all doing what we love to do and just playing our music. The prolific songwriters  newest project is the album 'Rabbit Foot Carnival' with his full band'The Starshakers-  released   Summer  2022 as a follow up to the acclaimed  raw solo folk which some call protest albums 'Music Notes From The Underground ' and ‘Song of our time’, as well as the re-issue of the Indie folk classic-‘Acoustic Rumble legacy edition’. The new album is different  than the Folk stuff .Its filled with a cross breed of  songs that mix Rock n Roll,Americana and Blues Gospel with lyrical poetic bombs keeping your mind going while your feet gotta move.

"It's The Music That Makes Me Move"
Matthew Bloomfield aka DJ Holdtight started his career some 32 years ago, having been influenced by his late brother Mark who was a lover of 'House' Music himself. When DJ Holdtight was just 16 years old, Mark bought him a set of decks and passed on his mixing skills, from thereon there was no stopping him. During DJ Holdtight's initial years of DJ'ing he continued to follow in his brother's footsteps with his taste in music and his mixing style.
Since that time DJ Holdtight has gone up to play a wide range of 'House' Music including vocal, soulful and even some tech house which he thoroughly enjoys. DJ Holdtight says that the feeling it gives him when he is in the zone is amazing. His main aim when he is playing is to pass that feeling onto the crowd and he is well known for doing just that.
Throughout the years, DJ Holdtight has been fortunate enough to play at a number of London venues including Ministry of Sound, Egg, Lightbox, Bagleys, Tudor Oaks, Market Trader & Broadway as well as more recently having played at Studio Two Sessions at the Lounge St.Ives in addition to being part of the line-up at Boogaloo & Expansions, Maidstone. and he has also played at a number of recent events including ‘Jungle Bar’ Hertford as well as for Belessa Management & Promotions private party. 
DJ Holdtight loves being behind the decks and is passionate about what he does, he loves creating a fantastic vibe for the crowd. Watch this space and remember where you heard his name!
