The Pulse of Experimental Club

The legendary Flowdan originally landed on the Canadian label Bare Selection in December last year with the powerful ‘Guilty As Charged’ EP. Now the label have pulled together a remix package of the project, bringing together veterans Roska and Marcus Visionary alongside rising stars Wize, Cassius Select and Lijah, who represent the worlds of UK funky, drill and leftield bass. 

Berlin-based producer Cassius Select takes on ‘Light Work’, taking the original 2-step influenced track to new heights, with twisted avant-garde drum patterns and rolling bass. Becoming quite the prolific producer, this remix follows releases in Banoffee Pies Records, Slink, and Edited Arts. 

Since launching in 2018, Bare Selection has quickly established itself as a champion for underground electronic music from both sides of the pond. Over the years they have released records from Lijah, .nathan., Manga Saint Hilare, Tre Mission, Freeza Chin, K-Notes and more.

« Founded almost four years ago, Le Motel’s Maloca Records has excelled in world-building as it tirelessly brings together some of the best and most innovative artists from different pockets of the club community around the world. This is showcased most notably through the compilation series which returns for its second volume on the 8th December as it combines both established and breakthrough artists.

Across 17 tracks, Maloca, Vol. 2 features both label family and exciting debuts with the likes of Farsight, Griffit Vigo, and DJ JM returning to the imprint. The rest of the compilation sees knockout contributions from the likes of Bambounou, Flore, Konduku, Tristan Arp, NVST, De Grandi, Neida, Cheb Runner, Malo2k, Leese, Ultima Esuna & Destrata, Mika Oki, M I M I and Space Drum Meditation. Whilst these artists may be from different cities across the pond, they all have something in common - they are leading the way for the next wave of club music. Whether that’s the riotous sounds of NVST, Griffit Vigo’s ever- evolving landscape of gqom, Tristan Arp’s signature insect-inspired soundscape, the emerging Brussels-based artists M I M I and Mika Oki or the trippy, introspective melodies of Konduku and Space Drum Meditation. The artwork is by Brussels-based painter Anastasia Bay who’s work presents a renewed vision of the human figure. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, Anastasia Bay’s work is all about contrast and balance. The choice of a precise fragment of reality in her works dissolves any narration. »

La sinfonía silenciosa de la existencia, es el ritmo de la vida, pintado a través del lienzo del tiempo, donde las sombras se mecen en el abrazo del crepúsculo y las estrellas hacen piruetas en la extensión aterciopelada del espacio.

Octoptic está de regreso para la tercera etapa de su evolución artística, donde Movimiento da vida a la quietud, infundiendo al mundo la vitalidad del movimiento, expresado en la cadencia de las olas que rompen en la orilla y el suave susurro de las texturas en la pradera.

Así que abracemos el flujo y reflujo, el ascenso y la caída, porque en el movimiento encontramos la esencia de nuestro ser, el ritmo de nuestro dolor y la armonía de nuestras almas.
