Currently available as a research preview for United States-based ChatGPT Pro users, OpenAI plans to roll out these capabilities globally to users of Plus, Team, and Enterprise accounts. However, CEO Sam Altman has confirmed that the rollout in Europe will take longer than expected, which is unfortunately a common theme in global launches.

Next up, Perplexity’s competitive AI move. In a bid to grab some attention away from OpenAI, Perplexity, an emerging AI search engine, has launched an AI assistant specifically for Android devices. Moving on, Anthropic introduces a new feature to combat hallucinations. The company has rolled out a feature called Citations for developers using their AI chatbot, Claude. This feature allows developers to reference specific sentences and passages from source documents, promising to enhance transparency and combat misinformation. Citations could prove critical for applications in document summarization and customer support.
