Formerly known as Jeff Plankenhorn, I’m now performing under the name 'J. Plank' with a fresh blend of blues, soul, and roots music.

Blending musical versatility, instrumental prowess, beautiful vocal harmonies and a premier rhythm section, the Easy Star All-Stars have established themselves as one of the top international reggae acts on the scene today. Thanks to their best-selling tribute album releases, Dub Side of the Moon (2003), Radiodread (2006), Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band (2009), Easy Star’s Thrillah (2012), the remix album Dubber Side of the Moon (2010), as well as original releases Until That Day EP (2008) and First Light (2011), the Easy Star All-Stars have built a growing, dedicated fan base throughout the world, bringing together fans of reggae, classic rock, dub and indie rock into one big family. The band has toured in over 30 countries on 6 continents. They’ve played many major festivals around the world, including an unprecedented three-day, three-stage stand at Glastonbury in 2009, which earned them a UK Festy Award Nomination that year.

Between you and me, Erica’s got a huge crush on the intersection of future soul and future bass. When she’s not fully focused on playing Okayfuture & Soultronica sounds, her favorite is playing diverse tropical sets that often span all the way around the globe.

She’s a globe-trotting DJ, producer and music journalist transplant to LA via NYC. Beloved for her curation on stage and her tastemaker role in publications and radio airwaves, she operates in a world all her own she affectionately refers to as ERICALANDIA. She brings a forcefield with her when playing and is a master of moods & setting vibes. 

DJing, Ericalandia ping-pongs year round from coast to coast and loves adventuring to play in fav places like Tokyo, Paris and London. She’s warmed up the Beyhive for Beyonce, played alongside Aloe Blacc & Miguel and just got off mini-Asia tour with Grammy-nominated Soulection artist Starro. 

She loves the versatility in shifting gears to suit settings, be it a silent disco in the woods at SXSW The Guggenheim Museum, capsule release parties for Fenty/Rihanna or Coachella. Erica has been the DJ of choice for fashion lines like UK brand Top Shop, Converse, Fenty and Ivy Park. A fav gig? Playing for Reggie Watts bday at Ace Hotel DTLA. She’s also pretty tickled to be featured in New York Magazine, Martha Stewart & Forbes. But the love notes from James Blake and Francis and the Lights on her Soultronica mixes takes the cake.

When she’s not fully focused on playing Soultronica vibes, Erica’s favorite modality is playing eclectic sets that often span all the way from Nu Disco to Azonto. 

Known for being extremely versatile and playing good, soulful music tastefully, Ericalandia is a master of moods. You’re likely to find her in diverse  & unusual settings from fashion to silent discos, yoga classes to night clubs, art galleries, festivals, launch parties and renegade soirees alongside regularly working with several high-profile clients like Ace Hotel, Beyonce, Converse, Martha Stewart, Nike, Tokidoki and Top Shop. 

DJ EKO aka Ericalandia (LA/NYC/worldwide), is a global sound ambassador with a penchant for cutting edge music that was born out of programming a decade-long radio show paralleling Gilles, J-Boogie, Oliver Wang and Garth Trinidad. Consistently acknowledged as an ‘ahead-of-the-curve’ tastemaker and initiated into journalism for the connoisseurs’ nexus of urban & electronic music, URB Magazine in the 2000’s, she’s now is a staff writer for Okayfuture [the electronic branch of the Soulquarian & Questlove’s Okayplayer]. Her first steps in those early radio & magazine years included earning her gold plaques on her walls for D’angelo & Mos Def. 

She enjoys breaking new music and introducing bloggers to up-and-coming producers, continually exposing listeners to new sounds, be it in person, via writing or over the airwaves. Her passion in seeking out the newest, most creative production, remixes and developing genres thrives in this new expansive world of equal-access technology. Ericalandia often hears feedback about how she obviously loves what she does and the music she plays, being told time and time again by audiences who are delightfully surprised at her cohesive way of weaving genres together in a unique way.
