Pablo Bolívar, with his projects like Seven Villas and Avantroots, has become the lighthouse guiding my musical explorations. His work, profound and resonant, has gently nudged me away from the familiar harbours of my past musical loves towards new horizons.

So. We are leaving you to guess what the title of @pablo-bolivar’s mix, Música Para Estar, means, and are focusing on something else this time, namely, the days we are living now. On the one hand, the whole world is experiencing the same pain and anxiety, everyone is trying to help everyone else, realizing or rather feeling how much we are interdependent or connected to each other. On the other hand, though, these days are really, truly about us. How many seemingly important things have disappeared and how much time, really important and cherished time, we have in our possession, so we get to stay with ourselves. Whether we want it or not is of course a whole different story, but the thing is we can. We have more time on our hands, having tangled ourselves with a bunch of things we had invented to keep ourselves busy, and now they are gone, and we have remained alone with ourselves, and it’s probably the first time ever we’ll not only be helping others, but ourselves too, given that no such opportunity will be given to us ever again. We’ll be thinking about everything we have said in the past and what we do today and the promises of the future, about the people who were and are in our lives, those who should be but are not and those we’ll certainly meet but not for now. In fact, we can go on like this forever, and realize at some point that the title, this text, this music, us, our thoughts, future plans, the indelible past and the vague future, and pretty much everything we know are not about the same thing. Or it may turn out that they have nothing to do with each other, and we just want them to be like that.
