Listening.Space is an immersive artist discovery show presented by @melrosealfalfa. In the first half of the show his guest @madmcferrin introduces five tracks that represent different listening spaces from her life in music. In the second half she performs her own music live.

More about the project:

We live in a time where, when visiting art galeries, museums or other cultural spaces we are respectful, reflective and quiet. However when going out to listen to music, this is often the opposite; detail in the art is lost in the lack of exchange.

Listening.Space is an effort to counteract this. Combining the two worlds of its name; the project gives a shared platform to the physical art of space and that of the musicians within it, in order to create a captive audience in an immersive and unusual setting.

The podcast is produced by @panache-lab - a young Parisian record label and ideas lab - and is hosted by @melrosealfalfa - DJ, presenter, label head at Panache and director of Sofar Sounds Paris.

A few years back, my friend Otis did a mixtape called ‘a time for peace’. It’s an effortless mix of melodic & vocally driven music which became a source of some of my favourite records that I was yet to discover. There was never a tracklist for it, but over the years, have found them serendipitously in record shops and had a few joyful moments when finally the needle drops on one of the tracks from this mix!
The past week has given me an opportunity to reflect on some of the records that I return to constantly, can get lost in & consider something else for a while. I hope that perhaps someone out there might find something in here that opens their ears to something new, can get lost in and one day have that needle drop moment too! Thanks to everyone who put me onto these records in one way or another.

Fran O'Hanlon acquired the name AJIMAL in the aftermath of being caught up in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. 

AJIMAL's second LP, As It Grows Dark / Light, is an exploration of the ideas of terror and wonderment and was co-produced with Guy Massey (Spiritualized, The Beatles, Bill Fay). His music has won support from Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music, Phil Taggart at Radio 1, John Kennedy at Radio X and Jason Kramer at KCRW. AJIMAL's live show encompasses elements of both soaring grandeur and pin drop intimacy. He trained and practises as a doctor alongside making music.
