this track on outdoor festival will totally rule the atmosphere! when I listen such a tracks it reminds me for Tangra and Artmospheric festivals on the second ambient stages the music is always deep and trippy and behind the stages-  big, big forest trees.

Isnt this Robert Rich? Somnium? Its something I've heard before if not.....

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

For this episode of Transience we have invited sound artist and musician @alexandraspence to respond to these ideas. During this hour she takes us on a deep-blue murky journey through the depths of the ocean, confronting the grief and complexity that is held in a space inconceivably polluted and damaged by humans, yet also surfacing at moments to gaze at the light, beauty and wonder that will outlive us all. She has aptly named this mix sea dreams, and begins and ends with two tracks from her forthcoming album on Mappa, 'a veil, the sea'.

After visiting the lakeside dreamland last year I couldn't help myself but imagine on the moment what I would play if I had the opportunity to perform there myself (as any DJ would, I guess). I had different archetypes of sets forming in the back of my mind for different times of the day possible, if the opportunity ever came one day. 
So when I got invited to play the opening of Floresta on Sunday, it first came as a bit of a surprise, but the surprise turned into excitement and it was time to prepare a special set where I could dig into my dub techno collection. 
So, I am very happy to share with you the recording of my set, where I finally had the chance to play slow, deep, dubby and sunny techno in such a setting.

For RA.1000, DJ Sprinkles' first mix in over a decade is a powerful meditation on the genocide in Gaza.

Dance music often relies on simple narratives: release, escape, unity. But those narratives can often feel inadequate, and even at times, hollow. Or, as Terre Thaemlitz might bluntly put it, just "shitty."

For her first mix in around 15 years, Terre Thaemlitz AKA DJ Sprinkles, challenges us to think differently. "I felt this 1000th podcast should reflect the moment in which it was made," she told us in her Q&A.

And what is this moment? Every day since Israel's 2023 assault on Gaza began, an average of 28 children have been killed. That's an entire classroom, every day, for over 600 days (at the time of writing). It's a staggering figure that only captures a fragment of the listless cruelty imposed on the strip.

Faced with such a genocide, what can music really do? How political can it truly be?  For their RA.1000, Thaemlitz gives us an unflinching rebuke to the idea that music should provide escapism. The mix weaves ambient fragments and jazz passages, woven around samples from Israeli media and the voices of outspoken Jewish critics like Gabor Maté and Norman Finkelstein. 

The result is not just a protest, but a document of our time. For Terre Thaemlitz, music is never just music. Her RA.1000 serves as a reminder that in an age of relentless suffering, the most political act is to reject the illusion of escape, and search for something greater.

RA.1000 Terre Thaemlitz / DJ Sprinkles

IDO returns with the second chapter of Transcendental Movements – a series dedicated to active meditation and deep listening. Active meditation is a practice of fully inhabiting the movement of sound. Instead of seeking absolute silence, it invites you to dive into textures, to be carried by frequencies, to follow oscillations like a breath. Every vibration becomes an anchor point, every resonance a gateway inward. In a world saturated with noise and anxiety, this approach offers a space to refocus the body and calm the mind. Here, listening is not passive: it’s an awakened trance where tensions shift and dissolve, leaving only a pure sense of presence.

For this second volume, Valentino Mora has gathered a new ensemble of artists exploring the frontier between intimate perception and sonic landscape. The compositions – slow and organic – unfold like micro-universes, at times ethereal, at times dense, designed to guide the listener on a sensory journey that transforms anxiety into movement, and movement into inner peace. Transcendental Movements Vol. 2 is an invitation to listen differently: not to escape, but to return to yourself.
