The 12th edition of the Special Series comes to us by the hands of the techno heavyweight Pedro Delgardo. His “Greater Than, Less Than” is a massive techno-groove cut up by a robotic vocal, scratches and effects. The first remix is by Chicago Loop, adding a rolling bassline and classic synths to the mixture. The final remix is by DJ Ogi, who transformed the track into a more dark and hypnotic version with an evil little arp-groove adding to its deepness. Once again a solid EP with techno for the masses.

Chicago Loop - Hi Tech Soul (Original Mix)

Wind is an action produced from the property of air, that evokes movement across our earth. Like wind creates movement in physical matter, this next compilation creates a wind of movement within us. Following up from a series of compilations that interpret different concepts surrounding the elements of life, we return to WIND for Volume 2 in this series. Spacey, atmospheric melodies move through us when interacting with this compilation. Industrial pulsing basslines and dramatic synths overwhelm the senses and ignite a desire to move and be free. Boris gets deep, dark and techno with his intro track “Zinger” which leads into the pulsing, synth driven sounds of Loco & Jam in “Ripper.” Old school vocal samples enlighten us in “El Bailey” produced by Dirtysoxxx in collaboration with The Reactivitz. We also hear again from George Privatti, and welcome Daniel Spanjard, Sonate and Berlanga to the WIND compilation mix.

Underground legend JKC lands on SUB CULT, with a brilliant two-track EP that is both driving and uplifting. "Blubber" up first, sporting a huge snare-build rising up to a pounding climax, topped off with an acid line driving the track ever upward. "Sunday Hangover" is a bit more melodical. A plucky synth setting the mood in the breakdown, fading into darkness to reveal the kick and bass sequence in all it's glory, percussion-driven and powerful.

SUB CULT has been at the forefront of contemporary techno for more than a decade, with its inception in 2007, when label boss Aka Carl established the imprint and set on his path of relentlessly developing the genre. The record label became a launching pad for nowadays renowned artists like Fer BR, Miche, Rydel, Luky RDU to name but a few, who recognized Carl’s vision and eagerly joined the trendsetting techno community with a hardgroove domain of that time. The roster of artists and list of fans & supporters expanded potentially and started a real momentum with continually impressive releases both in vinyl and digital format with productions constantly present in sets worldwide.

Fast forward 13 years and the label sees expanding to most sub genres of techno, welcoming new talented artists whilst preserving the trademark flavor and high standards which the audience expects from SUB CULT.
