Travis Spelmon is an accomplished recording artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist from
Watts, California, known for his passion for music, community empowerment, and youth
development. Born in San Diego and raised in the heart of Los Angeles, Travis’s early years
were shaped by determination, resilience, and creativity. After attending 112th Street
Elementary, Markham Middle School, and Gardena High School, he completed his education
at Nacogdoches High School in Texas, where his athletic and artistic talents continued to
flourish.
Following graduation, Travis shifted his focus fully to music, a passion that would define his
life’s purpose. His early success led to a recording deal with the renowned Blackground
Records, introducing him to the professional music industry at a young age. Guided by his
late manager, Louis “PD” Smith, Travis developed both his artistry and industry knowledge,
preparing for a major signing with Cash Money West Records before Smith’s passing.
Despite this loss, Travis’s perseverance and dedication allowed him to continue creating and
pursuing his vision on his own terms.
Driven by a desire to inspire and uplift, Travis founded The GOSO Foundation, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to supporting children and young adults through mentorship, creative
expression, and educational opportunities. Complementing this mission, he also established
GOSO Music Group, an independent label focused on developing new artists and amplifying
authentic voices in music and culture.
Travis’s work is guided by his unwavering belief that “tomorrow’s not promised.” His family,
friends, and community remain his greatest motivation, pushing him to make every day count.
As a devoted father of three and the youngest of two from his mother’s side and oldest of
three from his father’s, Travis draws strength from his family roots and life experiences to fuel
his purpose.
With a legacy built on passion, perseverance, and purpose, Travis Spelmon continues to
inspire others—proving that success is not only measured by fame or fortune, but by the lives
