A selection of dollar bin 7"s from the late 80’s / early 90’s. Majority b-side instr versions with a few vocals thrown in. No crazy expensive digi killers - these are fairly easy to get your hands on. Stuff that I have dug up over the years that perhaps the vocal didn’t do it for me but the flip made it interesting enough to keep. Monotonous bass, rolling drums - at times intense and industrial sounding. Sparse spaced out synths with dubbed out vocals on top.

Doing Time 15.11.2020 Late 80's / early 90's Dancehall Versions

For this month, we have a very special guest selector and dear friend, Jodie, holding it together (aren't we all?) for the second hour. 

Along with her partner Saad, she runs everyone's favorite bar, The Little Jerry. God knows how many saucy nights I've had there– early into the morning, dancing, on god knows what, barely holding it together (aren't we all?), having the TIME OF MY LIFE. Each week, we'd all compete for who on staff would win the ultimate title of being Head Cockroach (a nice 4-armed race to the dump).

I can't tell you how much I love her. And it's a deep pleasure to have her in for this month's radio show. So pop something bubbly, sit back and tune the heck in.

automatic writing w/ Tender Buttons & Jodie (December 2020)

This mix is a collection of records both old and new that hopefully provides a soundtrack to our current 'head-in-the-clouds' state of mind. Meditative in places and unsettling in others, the intention was to create a-lost-in-thought listening experience. The artwork on the second slide is by German 70s photographer couple Barbara & Michael Leisgen & is a poignant symbol of solitude yet one of optimism which I hope translates in the music.
