"En un corredor vi una flecha que indicaba una dirección y pensé que aquel símbolo inofensivo había sido alguna vez una cosa de hierro, un proyectil inevitable y mortal, que entró en la carne de los hombres y de los leones y nubló el sol en las Termópilas y dio a Harald Sigurdarson, para siempre, seis pies de tierra inglesa.

Días después, alguien me mostró una fotografía de un jinete magiar; un lazo dado vueltas rodeaba el pecho de su cabalgadura. Supe que el lazo, que antes anduvo por el aire y sujetó a los toros del pastizal, no era sino una gala insolente del apero de los domingos.

En el cementerio del Oeste vi una cruz rúnica, labrada en mármol rojo; los brazos eran curvos y se ensanchaban y los rodeaba un círculo. Esa cruz apretada y limitada figuraba la otra, de brazos libres, que a su vez figura el cadalso en que un dios padeció, la “máquina vil” insultada por Luciano de Samosata.

Cruz, lazo y flecha, viejos utensilios del hombre, hoy rebajados o elevados a símbolos; no sé por qué me maravillan, cuando no hay en la tierra una sola cosa que el olvido no borre o que la memoria no altere y cuando nadie sabe en qué imágenes lo traducirá el porvenir."

Genii - Till The Moon And Back

Josin – the project from German composer and producer Arabella Rauch – releases a new remix of ‘Company’ from Kiasmos, the electronic duo made up of BAFTA-winning Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds, and the Faroe Islands’ Janus Rasmussen, known as the mastermind of the electro-pop outfit Bloodgroup.

Kiasmos’ take on ‘Company’ maintains the raw beauty of the original vocal and combines it perfectly with a distinctly Kiasmos style, creating affecting and emotional soundscapes from a minimal electronic approach. “It feels a bit unreal to be honest to have a Kiasmos remix of one of my songs” explains Josin. “I love their work and their approach to electronical music. While waiting to hear a first mix I was excited about how the two worlds would sound combined: From the first notes I heard, it made complete sense. Very Kiasmos, very Josin. They used the right essentials from the original and added their deepness and emotional colour in an amazing way. The way they kept the vocal part completely unfiltered and raw is exactly how I see the vocals in that track. For me, the remix raises the song to a new level and inspires me back for my own work.”

The original track was written last summer during a campervan trip in Norway on a ridiculously small, battery-powered keyboard. “It was fun because I was able to work on the melodies basically everywhere: On a kayak in the middle of the ocean, while hiking, while waiting for ferries” explains Josin. “Sometimes writing on the go and with less gear makes one focus on the essentials more. Company is about trying to become one with something but not succeeding. It´s a solitary, careful declaration of love.” 

Last year Josin released her debut acclaimed EP ‘Epilogue’ via Swedish independent label Dumont Dumont (RY X, Charlie Cunningham).  The EP sees a dynamic blend of electronic jolts, enhanced by keyboards and haunting poetic vocals that draw on a variety of traditions, from classical to electronic. As a self-taught producer, Josin is always experimenting, incorporating the electronical world into her writing as well as composing string arrangements.

The rāga saga is a series I have started to act as a cultural collectiva of my favourite artists from all over, Each raga is an array of melodic structures with musical motifs, considered in the Indian tradition to have the ability to "color the mind" and affect the emotions of the audience and this journey (raga) comes from a beautiful dreamer living in Italy @kalunet aka Ka:lu, thankyou brother for your creations full of love.

Luca Cataldo (Ka:lu) is a multimedia artist that focuses his works on audiovisual installation, big projections, vjing, music production and djing. 

His journey into music starts at age 15 when he got the famous technics 1200; in 1999 he moves in Rome where he enters the Drum and Bass underground scene, getting involved in the italian bass culture for years jumping from a dj to a vj consolle; during this time he also keep exploring audiovisuals languages and electronic music production having the chance to perform in many parties, festivals and events in Italy and at international level too (Holland, Germany, Spain, Canaries, England, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway and Iran).

Early days, moving from the city to the green hills in the center Italy, after some years of being off from music, he returns back on djing and production looking for different sounds such as deep techno, dubtech, slowtech, ethno, tropical, meditative, multicultural. In the last 2 years he self-releases 3 Ep “LFO - Learning By Observation”, “Deep Winter” and “Follow Me” plus more others singles and edits like “Breath Out feat. Alan Watts” getting good feedbacks from influential producers of the international scene.

Through his arts, as in music, he always try to express the believe into sounds as universal language, a  way to get in meditation, a tool to understand where we are coming, where we are, where we are going. Any of his creation always has a story behind that aims to deliver aesthetic journeys providing an immersive experiences for heterogeneous audiences.
