Mystic Man. Man from the hills. Truisms that describe FIKIR AMLAK. This Rootsman has been putting out Heartical and Rootical works for 15 years now. 2014 will be a pinnacle year for this multi-talent(Andres Estrada) with the upcoming EP "King Of Kings", released by the highly respected Jah Youth Productions.
    This multi-instrumentalist/producer and engineer initially made an impact in 2005 when he established Black Lion Sounds(Santa Cruz, California) and released three superb albums "Fikir Amlak" "Love Jah And Live" and "Seed Of Zadok". Fikir has worked with such luminaries as St.Croix's Abja, Ras Batch, Ras Attitude and Puerto Rico's crusaders Roots Natty. Linking with these artists has honed his Royal style to higher ites. In 2008, he began a four year hiatus away from Babylon walls to refresh and reinvigorate. In 2012, he returned like a mighty Lion with "Lion Lives" and the excellent compilation "Highest Regions". Eager to spread Jah message throughout Creation, he has been writing and producing songs in Brazil(Rafa UniRidd) to Morocco(Saj Moor) to Northern California's Trinity Farm(Ras Biblical) and One Drop Records. Most recently, he has ventured into the Sound System arena; mashing it up from New York to Italy and across to England and France. Fikir Amlak's direct and versatile approach is felt throughout Creation like rolling thunder...
     Jah Youth(Jeffrey Bohler) is Hawaii's top ranking producer and brings out the absolute best in the artist. He has worked extensively with the likes of Daweh Congo and Kaya Lambsbread and these experiences have proved utter success in 2014. With the critical acclaim of Rob Symeonn's "Indigenous" and Perfect Giddimani's "Better Off Dread"; the link between this visionary producer and humble chanter will equate to incredible results.

En 2012 et dix ans après ses débuts, Stand High Patrol sortait son premier album. « Midnight Walkers » présentait un son dub contemporain aux multiples facettes, un son versatile, lourd de basses, baptisé dubadub. Forts du succès de ce premier LP et de celui de plusieurs maxis et singles sortis sur Stand High Records, Pupajim, Rootystep et Mac Gyver reviennent aujourd’hui avec un second album autoproduit, habillé d’une pochette réalisée par Kazy.

Enregistré en home studio entre juin 2013 et juillet 2014 « A matter of scale » fait apparaître de nouvelles influences. Les trois dubadub musketeerz intensifient la rencontre des styles et renforcent les bases de leur démarche créative. Une démarche d’ouverture, libérée des conventions.

Porté par la riche palette de flows exploitée par Pupajim, le son navigue sans cesse entre les époques. L’expérience dubadub prend une autre dimension. Les batteries et les mélodies Jazzy côtoient le reggae digital, les beats Hip-Hop flirtent avec les sonorités bass music et les dubs progressifs.

n 2012, ten years after its inception, Stand High Patrol released their first album: Midnight Walkers, which featured a multifaceted take on contemporary dub – a versatile sound with heavy bass, named dubadub. Following the success of their first LP, plus several EPs and singles released on Stand High Records, Pupajim, Rootystep and Mac Gyver now return with their second self-produced album, with sleeve art by Kazy.

Recorded in a home studio between June 2013 and July 2014, A matter of scale has brought the emergence of new influences. The three dubadub musketeerz intensify the genre crossovers and strengthen the foundations of their creative process. Theirs is an open approach, free from conventions.

Supported by the rich range of Pupajim’s vocals, the sounds travel incessantly between eras. The dubadub experience takes on new dimensions; jazzy rhythms and melodies stand alongside digital reggae, hip-hop beats, bass music and progressive dubs.

A matter of scale shows how Stand High Patrol design and compose their own music. The album reflects the undeniable penchant of the crew for experimentation and their obvious desire to break down barriers.

Forged in the "live" sessions at Reggae Roast Soundsystem in London, Vibration Lab specialize in throw-back juggling style, reminisent of the "old-school" Jamaican soundsystems  who would have a team of MC's and singers to perform over riddims in the dance. Vibration Lab realized the power of these sets and set-forth to capture the excitement of these Digtial Reggae Dancehall cifers in the studio. Vibration Lab set about to create some new riddims in homage to the Digital Reggae they grew up on, but with their own modern twist. Then they assembled the group of incredible talent and voiced at the legendary UK Reggae Producer Nick Manasseh's studio. The result was amazing!

This song is a masterclass in Digital Reggae Dancehall MCing by the one and only Colourman who had  world hits in the 80's with tunes like: Kick Up Rumpus and Dirty Ways Gal. As a leader of Sugar Minott's Youthman Promotion Sound, Colourman worked with all the greats including: Tenor Saw and Yami Bolo! Accompaning Colourman is the singer of the group Donovan Kingjay (also associated with Youthman Promotion and is also Sugar Minott's godson) Donovan gives his rendition of the classic tune 'Tears' as the chorus and then Colourman takes things to another level. The riddim for the tune is a Digital Reggae Dancehall tour de force from Vibration Lab!

Every aspect of this project has been taken to the highest level! All the tracks were mastered at the great Star Delta Audio Mastering, where they processed the tracks through their amazing anolouge equipment which gives the music a real warmth and clarity!

This is just the first taste from this exciting collaboration, a full album has already been recorded and will be released in 2018. There was something about that 1980's Digital Reggae Sound that was way ahead of it's time. Vibration Lab have taken it, put their own mark on it and brought it to now! Vibration Lab want to show that before there was Hip-Hop, Reggae invented the art of MCing, time to take it back!!!

This top skanking release from the Dub Conductor music label features two fantastic and legendary vocalists, Sandeeno and Johnny Clarke on the same riddim. Dub Conductor have had some fun in the production, processing both vocals to give a digital feel to the tracks. The end product is a bouncy vibe with some serious bass pressure and inspiring messages throughout. The A side, Sandeeno’s ‘Zion Train’, features a robotic and iconic spoken introduction inviting all ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ to step on board the zion train or face the wrath of babylon, outlining the theme of the track. Johnny Clarke on the B Side has a much more relaxed message, perfectly suited for reggae skanking. The message is simple. DANCE!
