Galactic Funk co-founder Bertram lands on Dead Channel with his debut EP Kibra Cadena. Literally translated as ‘break chains’ in Aruban creole, and broadly referencing the breaking of colonial chains of imperial oppression, this six track EP of tense, brooding rhythms is driven and gritty. Spanning mutated psychedelic dub, Giallo-tinged cinematix, frenzied insidious acid, and methodically churning crispers, this stunning work is singular in its execution and focused in its vision. Visceral, heady, and relentless, this dark, genre-defying gem is a tour de force in sonic mastery.

About Alina Valentina

Though she entered the mortal realm on Valentine’s Day, Alina Valentina is not one to romanticize life on earth through rose-tinted glasses. She instead explores an alternate dark fairytale universe channeled through her misanthropic synthwave music. Using analog synthesizers, cynical poetics, and detached vocal delivery, she conveys camp sensibility from her lair in The Netherlands.

Blending the nostalgic wonders of retro video games, sci-fi noir, and new wave/post-punk music, Valentina’s creations possess an enchanting and cathartic quality. Her sound reverberates the spellbinding mystery of Kraków Loves Adana, the hard-bitten attitude of Molly Nilsson, and the passionated Minuit Machine.

Her 'Life is like a fairytale' LP is a personal collection of tracks, all permeated by a melancholic atmosphere in a pure Electronic key. The remixes move across genres, from Acid to Techno to Electro, keeping Alina's fire alive through 4 different interpretations of her music.

Orlando Voorn is one of the first Dutch techno producers/musicians to establish a vital connection between Detroit and Amsterdam in the early 90ʼs. Orlando Voorn has long been recognized as one of the Netherland’s most original and ingenious techno producers in the world of electronic dance music.
Voorn began djing at the tender age of 12 and went on to win the Dutch DMC DJ Championships in 1986 with his own characteristic blend of hiphop and electro. Towards the end of the eighties he acquired his first sequencer, packed away his turntables and turned his hand to producing.
Following a series of dancefloor tracks recorded for the now defunct Lower East Side Records under the monniker of Frequency in the early nineties (Where Is Your Evidence, Kiss The Sky…), he was introduced to Juan Atkins (Industrial Metal, Game One) and went on to work with both Derrick May and Blake Baxter (as one half of the Ghetto Brothers).

TLXCO - CABLAGE [DC019] (Snippet)

The clock hands crawled slowly around the face; time felt as though it were moving at a snails pace. The wait had been excruciatingly long, with little to do to keep themselves entertained exacerbated by a looming feeling that something could happen at any moment meant they were left on the edges of their seat at all times. Sleep was not an option - they downed coffee as if it were water, widened their eyes as if in a constant state of surprise, pinched themselves when their heads began to loll: they couldn't risk missing the main event.

Dalmata Daniel's split series has so far welcomed the likes of Intergalactic Gary, Pasiphae, Olivia and Rapha to take a side of wax each. For their seventh they've got returning artist Roberto Auser on board alongside Cestrian, the alias of Margate-based producer and DJ Ali Renault. As always the Budapest label have perfectly curated these musical partners, this time giving them a platform to explore eerie EBM, industrial-leaning electronics and raw, machine-driven electro.
