A rap artist, producer and videographer from Malawi. 

Tha Jayman is a born and bred Ndola native. He was first introduced to music in the late 80’s by his father. From watching his first video on the Beam, which was then a famous show on the national television station which showcased the top videos of the time he saw and heard such artists as Curtis Blow, LL Cool J, Loose Ends and many more.

His inspiration for radio came through listening to Radio 4, which in the late 80’s and early 90’s was the top radio station in the country. Through constant persistence, Tha jayman was finally introduced to the top radio presenter and DJ at the time, Geshgroove (Chishala Chitoshi Jr) which furthered his interest in music, but also in the art of djing, especially turntablism.

Tha Jayman's first experience on radio began when he joined UCT Radio (University of Cape Town Radio Station) in February 2002. After 3 weeks of intensive training he was partnered up with a close friend, Dennis Bwalya, who went by the stage name Dondalla. They did the graveyard shift for 2 weeks before they were moved to the Saturday breakfast show from 6 to 9am which they did until June 2002. From July-December of 2002 they did the drive time shift from 2 to 5pm.

In 2003, Tha Jayman parted ways with Dennis and was given his own show, which he called PHAT JAMS, on Saturday 7 to 9pm till December 2004. 2005 saw a change in the schedule and The Jayman was given Wednesday and Friday nights 8 to 10pm. The Wednesday show was ladies night and was a Soul/RnB lead genre lineup and the Friday show was RnB and Hiphop, which also showcased interviews with some of South Africa's top artists, like Skwatta Kamp, Pitch Black Afro and may more. The Jayman also promoted upcoming artists and their shows, like X the 24th letter, Kelly as well as mixtape DJays.
