“‘The Revenge’ is my homage to clubs like “Rage" and my days growing up in London", says Matt Edwards. “The Reverse’ came from some late night studio sessions in February and I’ve had a lot of fun playing this out. All I can say is it’s very me - stripped back and made for the dance floor”.

Urban field recordings and a spoken word sample set the tone in ‘Revenge’ before an onslaught of breaks erupt into a frenzy; the overall aesthetic borrows upon numerous UK rave hallmarks whilst sounding fresh and impeccably geared for modern DJ use. The new Intec release is from Frank Mitchell aka Frankie Bones who is an American based DJ and producer whose played a large role in New Yorks Techno scene. Having been involved in music since the mid 80s, Frankie Bones was one of the first DJs from New Yorks Brooklyn region to gain global success. By the late 80s Frankie Bones was getting regular European bookings following the success of his Bonesbreaks EP series, which released on Underworld Records received global recognition and critical acclaim. During his three decade spanning career Frankie Bones has even released an EP on the iconic Trax Records, which released many of the early records that defined the House and Techno genre. One of his most popular releases was his 1989 release titled Call It Techno which originally came out on Breaking Bones Records, and a firm Carl Cox favourite has now been remastered and rereleased for this special Intec package, which also features one of his new and previously unreleased tracks. Also featuring on the release are two new remix versions provided by Carlo Lio and Raito who each put their individual stamp on things. Carlo Lio is an artist who in between global DJ bookings, has released music on labels including Octopus, SCI+TEC, Turbo, Mood, and Saved Records. French artist Raito is fast rising through the ranks following regular releases Boysnoize Records, along with having also featured on Mako, Origami Sound, Main Course and BNR TRAX. "Call It Techno" has a timeless bass line taken straight from the glory days of Acid House. Filled with retro charm and warehouse party vibes, the vocal tells the story of Technos history, and the pads plus melody are rich in analogue joy. Carlo Lio's remix of "Call It Techno" uses choice snippets of the originals vocal to refine the story it into a powerful chant. This remix is fast and furious with added tension and suspense. Carlo adds his own toughened backing track thats filled with dark atmosphere plus an explosive drop after the main break. Raito's remix of has a bumping groove and stomping kick drum. Thick and chunky, it takes no prisoners with its hard hitting percussion and stabbing sounds. Jacking in every sense of the word, it's summed up nicely by the vocal lyrics "hits you in the face like a hammer! Second of the two original track is "Light It Up" which takes its title from the lyrics of the vocal sample. With spin backs and filter sweeps, the tracks forward momentum is accentuated by a series of bass drops. Lead by the building intensity of a bubbling acid line, the tracks rolling groove is a sure fire party starter. The fifth and final track is a dub mix of Light it up, which with the main vocal removed, focuses on the music only.

<p>Jacob makes his Phobiq debut and kicks off his EP with the haunting title track which twists and turns with hypnotic spoken sword snippets and grinding hats. Things continue in the same vein in his collaboration with DJOKO, as we are introduced to manic claps, percussion galore and Old School stabs. &#8220;MDxx High&#8221; offers a more subliminal approach at first, courtesy of the rubber-band bassline, but then flips everything around and breaks into an ultra-retro synth lead. &#8220;Tribe&#8221; closes up with a firm nod to the roots of this sound, and before we know it we are witnessing an actual siren burst out of nowhere.</p>

Alan Fitzpatrick has been sitting firmly in the driving seat with his label We Are The Brave since it launched with his club smash hit ‘We Do What We Want’ in the summer of 2016. It’s safe to say after just over two years, the label has been at the forefront of the UK’s underground scene, with a huge catalog of releases. Gary Beck, Reset Robot, Ronnie Spiteri, Sasha, Skream and Alan have all sat alongside releases from the freshest meat around including Leonardo, A.S.H and Rudosa.

Alan’s poured his passion into every aspect of the label at a formidable force, with over 8 We Are The Brave showcases this year alone, including his landmark Alan Fitzpatrick’s Day Festival back in March, and the House Party Tour for the second year in a row - he feels now, this EP marks an exciting time for him, both personally and musically.

To welcome in the 3rd year, Alan drops his biggest release yet, with his gargantuan 7 track EP titled ’11:11 The Awakening’. “The name of the EP might resonate with the spiritual people among us but put simply, it represents a significant change in my life and reminds me to focus on new beginnings and follow what I believe in” – says Alan.

Kicking off with the pulsating low end of ‘Eleven Eleven’, the release takes you on a journey of sound exploration. Deep rolling basslines as we have come to know and love from Alan, with his trademark chunky, warm synth work. 




"I'm not hugely into the traditional idea of making an album anymore but I felt like it was time to do something a bit different for my label. I sat on these tracks for a while and realised they work really well together and make a strong, statement EP. I chose to include seven tracks because I have so much music to share at the minute and it's a shame to make people wait so long for releases” – adds Alan

It’s deep, brooding and ethereal, yet tracks like ‘Dead Beat Exile’ show a side of acid and ‘Stand Up’ makes for the most experimental and heady track of the release. Finally, ‘Toasted Pitta’ closes out the release, with its warm, cerebral tone.
