Marcelo Demarco - Nulvex EP - Children Of Tomorrow

In Chapter 5 of Das Kapital, Marx asks whether profit (surplus value) can come from buying and selling goods in the market. He shows that this is impossible: if all commodities are bought and sold at their true value, no one gains anything overall, and even cheating doesn’t explain profit because gains and losses cancel out across society. Exchange can only redistribute existing value, not create new value. Therefore, the source of profit cannot be found in circulation (buying and selling) but is also not outside circulation, because capitalists must buy something to start production. This leads Marx to the conclusion that the answer must lie in a special commodity purchased in the market that can create more value than it costs, setting the stage for Chapter 6, where he reveals this commodity to be labor-power.

For our second guest edition, we welcome Omaha native Kethro — a multi-disciplinary artist and audio engineer whose creative output spans DJing and production. Currently preparing multiple solo EPs, including his anticipated debut Evoleno, Kethro’s work reflects a focused evolution of his sound and artistic vision.
Rooted in Afrofuturism and what he calls “Koyaanisqatsi Techno”. As he describes it:
“I wanted to tap into the roots of what hypnosis means in the realm of music. How is this challenged? How does time feel slow as BPMs rise? What is the sonic representation of chaos during REM sleep? Is it a nightmare, or is it a fantasy?”

After attending the Timewarp Festival in Mannheim, I rekindled my passion for techno music. In September 2023, I began producing EDM using only Ableton. I have since expanded my setup with the addition of Arturia Microfreak and Roland TR-8S. Love the creative journey and look forward to continual improvement.

Paris based and inspired by Berlin’s masters of the genre (Len Faki, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann) and the French scene (Mac Declos, Kuss, Léa Occhi, Vel,…), he turned his home modular studio into an introspective lab. 

He dove headfirst into this new sonic territory — raw, progressive, cathartic. What he had always sought in music — trance, sincerity, collective energy — he found again in this black, organic techno. In these modular, hypnotic loops that dig into the soul as much as they elevate the body.
