'Newness' was written about a universal feeling of 'new' that we all experience when we meet someone & feel instantly special about them. The feeling calls for a situation where it's too early to say something but you also have an irrationally positive feeling about it.

Passing through the dreams is a song from Akram Ul Haq’s debut album. The song is inspired by this grandmother’s support for other’s dreams and the strength in unconditional love. It captures the power of collective dreaming that helps change societies. The song came to him during the grieving process of his Grandmother’s death. 

After writing the song, Akram came across this idea in Niel Gaiman’s series the Sandman. Vol 2 #18 “A Dream of a Thousand Cats”, is largely about how dreams construct reality and if enough people believe in an idea it manifests into reality. Constructs like equality, justice, fairness essentially exist because people believe in them. 

Akram is fascinated by the idea that humans are connected through the collective unconsciousness and we can travel through each other’s dreams.

Passing Through The Dreams

If I need to sum up the song’s emotion, it is ‘Unspoken Longing’. This song is a hauntingly beautiful one that captures the bittersweet essence of two hearts entangled in a silent dance of love and longing. They share an unspoken connection, a love that burns brightly within but remains imprisoned by their inability to express it. The melody is soft and melancholic, with gentle ambient synth chords that mirror the fragility of the emotions and singers showcasing their vocal prowess.

"Dhoondta Raha" is a heartfelt song inspired by the profound impact a girl had on the songwriter's mind and heart. Her presence became so overwhelming that it almost felt like a hallucination, manifesting her image everywhere and in everything. The lyrics reflect a journey through intense emotions, where the lines between reality and imagination blur. The melody captures the enchanting and sometimes disorienting feeling of seeing her face in crowds, hearing her voice in the wind, and feeling her touch in dreams. It's a powerful testament to how deeply someone can affect our senses and inspire art.
