For MUH 3210:
“Wander” embodies many qualities of important musical styles over the years. First, its instrumentation includes a lead line played with a slide guitar technique, which emulates slide guitar used in blues or steel guitar used in country music. 
Also, the song has a strong backbeat throughout that is typical of modern rock music. We can feel the rhythm of the song through its snare hits on beat 2 and 4.
Thirdly, the vocal technique includes both clear words and nuanced slides. This is shown in country music and in the blues, which tell stories and require articulate lyrics.

Wander

For MUH 3210:
The intro to this tune is made up of samples from many different friends of mine. While those samples are playing, a Mellotron plays a simple harmony in the background as an intro. It ends on two tonic notes that are played an octave apart. This allows for a moment to breathe before we enter into the structure of the song, which is a 12–bar blues structure. Unlike a standard Blues song, there are no dominant chords in this tune. The song takes 4 choruses, each one progressing in volume and adding a change in timbre. The only melody that is continuous can be found in the key and piano part. If you listen closely, you can hear a consistent melody line throughout. There is a slow backbeat to this song with an emphasis on 2 & 4. There are always 3 vocal harmonies in the background with varying ooo’s and ah’s. Their timbre is punchy and bright, especially in the second to last chorus. This allows for them to stick out in the mix a little more. On top of all of these things happening, there are two electric guitars playing solos over the form.
