About Bazoo Bajou :
The German downtempo duo have been making music together since the late ’90s, pumping out a healthy number of 12-inches and albums for Stereo Deluxe and !K7 leaning towards dub and trip-hop. Last year Florian Seyberth and Peter Heider signed to R&S subsidiary Apollo with the Jan Mayen EP, and they’ll follow that up with their next full-length (and first since 2009). The press release compares the record to the sweeping ambient of Brian Eno as well as Basic Channel and John Hasell. 4 will feature contributions from guitarist Frank Zeidler, violinist Stefan Pötzsch, synth wizard Max Loderbauer and even some duduk playing from Frank Freitag. Boozoo Bajou earned global attention with their irresistible breakthrough single ‘Night Over Manaus’ in 1998, their 2001 debut album ‘Satta’ and its 2005 sequel ‘Dust My Broom’. They also demonstrated their excellent and wide-ranging musical taste on two excellent mix compilations, ‘Juke Joint’ and ‘Juke Joint II’.

In addition, Florian and Peter have remixed and collaborated with a wide range of major artists. These include hip-hop superstar Common, Joe Dukie from New Zealand dub-rock collective Fat Freddy’s Drop, rapper Oh No from the Stones Throw camp, former Motown writer-producer and blaxploitation soundtrack legend Willie Hutch, and the veteran Louisiana singer-songwriter Tony Joe White, author of the all-time classic ‘Rainy Night In Georgia’.

I cannot find any person in this world more interesting than Moondog. Inventor of instruments, self-taught composer, poet and blind at 16, he dwelled for 30 years in 6th Avenue & 53th in New York, wearing a viking suit while selling his recorded music and poems. Friend of the best musicians of the city such as Charlie Parker or Benny Goodman, he got introduced to Native American music since young. This mixture of Jazz, Native American music and New York City street sounds are the foundation of Moondog’s signature sound.

The personality of Alaix Pulse was born in the early 2000s. Fascinated by African rhythms and natural sounds, but also influenced by the pop rock culture of the 90’s’ of his parents. Alaix began composing his first songs on a video game console at the age of 13. Experimentation has always been a key point in each of these musical productions, thereby exploring different genres over the years. Over time his signature sound further developed and he got recognised by great venues, such as LaCoste Castle, that gave him the opportunity to perform his music and spread the love even more.
