After 6 months four waves is back with the Loveshadow duo. Stoked to have them on board to cook something together in a different direction. "A Wrinkle In Time" is a series of curated guest mixes inspired by John Peels habit to accidentally play records at the incorrect number of rpm. Though it never failed to annoy and embarrass him, one of the tribute compilations released after his death was given the title "Right Time, Wrong Speed". Nowadays Wrongspeeders are a popular and fun tool for most DJs. "A Wrinkle In Time" is not about playing 45s on 33 or the other way round though, but it has one important rule, its only rule: Don’t get too close to the original playing speed of the record, the area between +4 and -4 on the pitch scale of the turntable is a forbidden zone.

International Bauer

Hailing from Toronto Canada, Diana McNally aka Automaticamore aka the queen of Italo, comes in strong with an hour of carefully selected killer cuts - the energy bar that we all needed. With hundreds of live-streams flooding our news-feeds and new mix-series starting to come up during these challenging times, we leave it to Diana to finish off our weekly Quarantine series and return to fortnightly publications from now on.

In a way, her persona could not be more fitting, as she is not only an avid vinyl collector, but also works as a social worker at the Toronto Drop-in Network for homeless people. Diana is currently taking vacation days in order to work 12-14 hours on the frontlines of the pandemic, supporting and helping the most vulnerable ones - most of the times without proper protection, literally keeping people from dying. A reminder, perhaps, that even after 4 weeks of quarantine, the pandemic is still very much real. There are still people dying and in order to support frontline-workers like Diana or the fantastic National-Healthcare staff all over Europe, we must drink and dance to Italo-Disco *inside* our homes.
