Recording from my closing set at the final Primeval party 11/11/17.  This was definitely a challenge for me on this night, as I was not at my physical best. Thankfully, the crowd kept pushing me through till sunrise! This one covers some acid, minimal, dub, and a couple classic techno tracks. This ended up being the last set played in the iconic series of Primeval underground warehouse parties, and Im honored to have sent it off with exactly the sound and style I wanted to present.

The love and encouragement I had from friends and family on this night was pure magic and I'm really proud of how this mix turned out. It's really diverse, giving you a little taste of just about every style and vibe I like to play. I hope you enjoy it! <3

*Sidenote: Ardalan didn't care that I dropped "Mr. Spock" and was so cool! Great to meet him, such a nice guy and fantastic artist. :)

The ends-of-years, with their planetary rotations, hibernations, sheddings, rejuvenations, and regenerations mark a certain pause or contain a condensed (frustrated) energy of emergence. This time, we mark that moment with a welcomed contribution from Mansour Al-Amin-Dyer. 

In his words, Mansour is "on a path of rediscovery in order to construct his own brand of authenticity. The mix I have presented for AW/OA, as Manny 'Nuff, is another exercise in mining the more nuanced bits that connect yesteryear into the present and beyond."

Originally from Chicago, and recently re-located to Denver, you can catch him around the building his unique presence through the transnational collective, Peer Review, which is focused on enhancing the already promising underground dance community.

SoLaRkaT AKA Victor John AKA Coldfuture AKA that dude from way back, doing the January 2019 mix for Moss Pig. 

This is another mix in an attempt to describe Front Range Hardcore, the acid-tweeked, ineffable style of the Colorado scene.

This episode is a reaction to the state of affairs today in our country, as well as a meditation on those who came before us and paved the way for equality among different ethnicities.

Martin Luther King Jr was a living cross-roads in history. For this recording I tried to place myself at that cross-roads, an observer & supporter. A perspective from right in the middle of the chaos, the tension of the Civil Rights Movement, and of the tensions that exist across our land in the present.

Alala One (@alalaone)- DJ, producer and all-around staple of the Colorado techno scene - is our contributor for the month of February. She has been DJing for over 15 years and collecting records for longer - and her mixes, needless to say, reflect her refined talent as a selector.  But her work within the scene has not been limited to DJing; she's also been intimately involved with the curation and production of the respected (but recently retired) Boulder-based festival Communikey.  With beginnings playing parties for CO's long-running collective Mother Earth Sound System (MESS), she's spent years immersed in her passion and has since spun alongside Nina Kraviz and DJ Stingray, just to name a few.  For her, DJing is a craft, and this cross-genre mix, which blends compelling, leftfield techno with off-kilter electro cuts, creates a deep listening experience that is fresh, surprising, and highly engaging.  It's.so.good.

The purpose of this Autumn mix is not so much about showcasing "dj work" as it is about providing a soundscape for the listener to perform their own Shamanic extractions for deliverance back into the void.
