Aaron Martin holds the key to a secret society of deep house purely powered by bass and drum, letting percussion run wild on top as vocal misfits make themselves heard. With little in the way of riffs, licks or melodies to hold onto, the Spaniard unlocks your other senses as a cryptic Clarisse scene stealer. This is drum circle, deep house for subterranean, cavernous, swampy, below sea level dancefloors, a mood and style that has caught the attention of Richie Hawtin and James Hype and stuck to streaming charts like glue.

It's time for the percolator on 'PauPau', a tentacled, hot spring of deep house, built on the assembly line, rumbling and rattling with infinite efficiency. Beats take the elevator to beyond the basement, and coded language makes the location even more MIA.

Broader, bouncier beats living the 'Colocolocada' descend to watery, tribal house depths - sonar signals and aquatic frequencies swimming round - as Martin and his vocal cronies keep heads pushed down without coming up for air. The breakdown lies on a razor's edge as bass levels push up, and the whole affair stays sharp while submerged.

The dress code for the third episode is 'Chain on Neck', befriending hip hop slingers on a dancefloor you won't find on any maps. Deep, snippy, slightly druggy, and performing as a perfect domino rally to leaving you wanting more at both sunset and sunrise, Martin's philosophy is both straightforward and full of mystery.

Bastian Bux strides into 2024 with an impressive three-tracker on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax. 

Bastian Bux was hugely busy in 2023 with standout cuts on his own Neverendz label, having already impressed on Eats Everything's Edible, elrow Music and Cuartero's Sanity. He hails from Barcelona and has shown himself to be endlessly creative in the studio - each new tune shows an evolution in his sound, whether vocal, deep, tech or beyond. Now, almost a decade into his career, he has played everywhere from Tomorrowland to Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, and he now opens the year with a superb three-track EP on Hottrax. 

The punchy 'Dunns' kicks off with tight, clipped tech house drums and chopped-up vocal stabs that eventually turn into streetwise bars drenched in attitude. 'Dat Beat' is just as fresh and sure to get crowds in a swat with its hardcore house grooves and twisted synths spraying about the mix. Throw in more well-treated vocal fragments and a fat bassline, and you have real club dynamite. Completing this essential hat trick is 'Howyalldoin', a more playful cut with a sun-kissed vibe thanks to its soulful male vocals and funky bass riffs.

Mexican DJ/producer Carbajal lands on Paradise Music with ‘Nunu’.

Hitting the Mexican electronic music scene and lighting up Mexico City's most underground nightclubs as well as the vibrant Cactus Beach Club at the Blue Monday party, Carbajal has quickly captured the public's attention with his unmistakable groove and infallible party anthems. Now, in the lead-up to his exciting debut on Jamie Jones' Paradise Music in March, Carbajal presents 'Nunu', a hip-shaking two-track production that has already generated buzz following early plays at Circoloco Barcelona during The Martinez Brothers' b2b set with Seth Troxler.
