Getting the Most from Ramadan

No Person Knows When & Where He Will Die!

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– {Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware} [Surah Luqman: 34].
– Reflection: no soul knows where he will die or when he will die.
- {And every nation has its appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment)} [Surah Al-A’raf: 34].
– Statement of Al-Ḥasan al-Basrī (رحمه الله).
– Ḥadith: “When Allah intends good for his slave…”
– The reality of tests and how it should aid a Muslim to return in repentance to their Lord.
– Ḥadith: “The greater reward comes with the greater calamity.”
– Reflections from the Ḥadīth of the five things before five.
– Whoever is neglectful in doing actions during their youth, good health, riches, free time and during their life.
– {Take me back and let me have the opportunity to do the righteous actions}
– Rectifying that which is between yourself and your Lord.
– Rectify between yourself and others before the Great Day.

[27/12/2024] "Among the Worst of People is One With Two Faces!" - By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Truthfulness - a foundation of the religion.
– {Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun} [Surah Az-Zukhruf: 67].
– Ibn Kathīr’s رحمه الله explanation of the above verse.
– True friendship should be based upon truthfulness.
– Statement of Ibn Abbās رضي الله عنهما: “All companionships will change to enmity except those that feared Allāh”.
– Powerful statement regarding friendship from Imam Shaf'ī رحمه الله.
– The majority of mankind's errors are due to the tongue.
– The most evil of people is the two-faced one.
– Their state on the day of Judgement.
– The two-faced should not be put in positions of authority.
– Success lies in being truthful as the truthful people carried this religion.
– Ḥadīth explaining the severity of disparaging your friend for worldly gain.
– Allāh - The Most High - has protected the honour of the believer so do not dishonour each other.
– Beautiful words of poetry regarding fake friends.
– Admonishment from scholars regarding always being truthful, friendships and communities must be built upon truthfulness and we should stay away from betrayal.
