This one was written for the August 2023 Image challenge.  This is also a continuation of my previous composition for the January 2022 Image challenge. Hence, chapter 2 of “The Sleeping Forrest”.

Ocean is all about capturing the magic and beauty of the ocean. With every note, I aimed to reflect the tranquil waves, the vast expanse, and the serene whispers of the sea. It's a piece meant to bring you peace and a moment of calm, just like standing by the shore and watching the waves roll in.

In a change from my usual record in one live take this was recorded in two stages. I used both VCV Rack and Ongaku from Giorgio Sancristoforo; https://www.giorgiosancristoforo.net. As both are running as stand alone instruments I cant record them simultaneously.  Having a good idea of how the two would fit together I was able to record the VCV elements then play them back and add Ongaku. Additional effects were then added to the Ongaku part, this was planned for in advance. For the final mix I copied a couple of them to one of the VCV elements to blend across the transition.

Stars on the Pond - (Naviarhaiku - 561)

A composer who does not know how to read & write note music, nor to play any musical instrument.  Thanks to modern technology though, I've found the midi tools & VST Instruments to transfer the music from my busy head to actual audible tunes.
