A true legend and pioneering figure of techno, US sound architect and Geophone label owner Mike Parker breaks in on the RYC waves with a very special set full with his idiosyncratically dark, obsessive, inch-perfectly chiselled 4x4 wares. Before Boiler Room and co. were even a thing, a pioneering platform going by the name of Studio R° used to broadcast techno sets by prominent artists from a secret location in Berlin. This iconic, vinyl-only mix is Parker’s Studio R° set from 2013, now fully remastered for your listening pleasure. Building atmospheres unlike any other, brooding and transcending in equal measure, Parker has laid the foundation to an exceptionally rich body of work. Master of the industrial vocab, peeping towards Detroit but with his defining spin on the early days genre, Parker entices us down the path of steely monumentality and laser-precise mind control. Just as typically mazy, his present mix conjures up all traits of quality Parker material: 909-powered propulsion, enslaving acid whorls, Escher-like fractals. Wild, wild ride ahead.

About Pulso:
Joel Pulso challenges the stablished structures in the musical framework since his style became more definitive, experimental, analogous and hypnotic, developing a unique imprint, based on minimalism and the collage method through home-made recordings. His project and musical focus exposes the objective of immersing the listener on his semantic field, going from psychical and cerebral music, to the most sci-fi & loopy danceable style through his productions and sessions.

Pulso is part of the great Argentine scene providing musical legacies in renowned labels such as Subsist, Semantica, Float, Mindtrip, just to name a few. Since 2023 his new label was born: Speculations LTD which is dedicated to deliver "complex music on simple format" in which Pulso performs the position of mastering engineer and label managing. 

In parallel to his music and minimalist style of work, Joel Pulso develops cover arts under the name of Fractales DIY, formerly publisher of fanzines and handmade books, currently factory that spits out the crudest and surreal analog collages which are part of the catalog that defines his vision as an artist.

Hailing from Belgium, Border One has amassed an irrefutable reputation in his home country and beyond since the release of his first 12-inch record in 2015. Between a fascination for sound discovery through the use of his modular synthesizer and his loyalty to the classic club rhythms, Border One’s style serves as a swiss-army knife for promoters and DJ’s on an international level. 
With a self description expressing a priority to make the crowd move, his music does not fall short of its intention. Forward thinking in its conception rendered highly functional in its implementation, Border One’s music finds middle ground in an increasingly polarized musical climate for the genre; whether it be through his selection as a DJ or his technicality as a producer. Considering this, his release catalogue seems only appropriate. He has released EP’s on Knowledge Imprint, Setaoc Masse’s SK-X, his own Border One Records, Freddy K’s KEY vinyl imprint, and the infamous Token Records to name a few.

Our May podcast comes courtesy of STNDRD, with the Barcelona-based producer and DJ delivering a gritty 1-hour session combining intense drum workouts and heavy synth leads.

With a steady output of releases starting in 2018 for several reference labels (Subsist, Dynamic Reflection, Children Of Tomorrow...), STNDRD has since become an active member of the Bahn crew in Barcelona and is also behind the Audio Magnitude project, a label and podcast series showcasing his most valued techno producers from around the world.
