Pharoah Sanders played at Yoshi's from March 13 to March 20 in '01. Was also a benefit show for Billy Higgins.  

Billy Higgins had a double liver transplant (the first liver was rejected) in March '96 and was then facing in '01 the prospect of another transplant.  He died of kidney and liver failure 2 months later.

of the flower is about a girl sitting on the edge of an enormous white flower,  her legs dangling from it. The full flower forest around her is displaying itself fully at the moonlight. The bendy detuned synths and vocals symbolize the gentle movement of the petals moved by the breeze. This song is about a “let me be” kind of feminism. Let me breathe, walk alone at night without being scared, allow me to flourish without restrictions.

This release features remixes by Japanese Club Jazz pioneers Kyoto Jazz Massive, and Genre Blending New Yorkers, musclecars.

Kyoto Jazz Massive were enlisted to remix the Jazzanova reimagining of Sam Sanders’s iconic song Face at my Window. Their mix adds an intimate Jazz Club feel to vocalist Sean Haefeli’s recording, which highlights the dynamics of Sean’s voice. The subtle tempo increase maintains the feel of the original and adds a punch to the brass section, making the track an entirely new experience.

musclecars add that traditional New York / Chicago House vibe to Jazzanova’s reimagining of Kenny Cox’s ‘Beyond the dream’, and the result is a skippy afro/latin dancefloor filler which can go on forever. musclecars demonstrate their genre blending superpowers on this mix which adds a garage swing to a jazz record, definitely going to be a jam for the dancefloors in 2023.

Both remixes showcase the importance of DJ Amir's unearthing of these strata gems, and Jazzanova’s reimagining, how they have breathed new life into one of Detroit’s hidden gems - Strata Records. They will definitely on board new audiences to the treasure trove that is Strata, and the iconic stories surrounding the often overlooked record label.

Welsh harpist Amanda Whiting has very quickly established herself as an essential part of the UK jazz scene. 

Touring extensively with her own band as well as with Matthew Halsall, Chip Wickham, DJ Yoda and Rebecca Vasmant, she endlessly delivers immense beauty and depth from the stage. Add to that two incredibly successful albums for the legendary Jazzman record label and a nomination for Instrumentalist of The Year at the Jazz FM awards and you get a picture of a hugely important talent. 

As Amanda prepares to release her third solo album, Albert’s Favourites have partnered with her to release a collection of remixes from the beautiful Lost In Abstraction record.

The second remix from her EP comes from Scrimshire, taking the beautiful solo-harp piece Discarded it and reimagining it as an orchestral epic.

The ambition to celebrate under-the-radar artists has remained, but instead of a facsimile of volume one, what we have here is a selection shaped by life changes. 8. Banda 22 - A Luz Que Brilha Meu Viver

Having reached the square that opens my street, I stopped for a minute to catch my breath (I was pretty exhausted while climbing up the alley). I heard my stomach growling and decided to have a little snack. 
I went to the booth where the old man works and ordered ramen with my favorite spices. The dish is really a little spicy, but with these spices that my grandfather adds to the ramen, it can be incredibly tasty.
Usually, he already has all the ingredients ready, so all he has to do is quickly cook the noodles, add the broth and other additives and serve the dish. In general, it takes about 2-3 minutes to prepare ramen.
He always adds a mixture of some kind of seasoning to his ramen. And every time I ask him to tell me the composition, he refuses, saying that each chef has his own secret ingredient that has been developed over generations and passed down from teacher to student. Moreover, each of those who learned the composition added something of their own and improved it, making the taste more mysterious and elegant.
Having finished my ramen, I thanked grandfather for delicious meal and, as always, paid with a generous tip.
