A few months ago I went out to a Bijenkorf with some friends to record some sounds. One of them recorded a sample of an old telephone, which I decided to use in my latest track 'Dial N For Noise'. It's out now as part of the Season Of Chords compilation on Insectorama! Enjoy :)

When I was asked to do a remix for one of @space-scavengers' tracks, I was immediately inspired to make two different versions of 'Dust Sector': a dubby one and a techy one. The dubby Super Nova Remix was released as part of the Remixed compilation on Cold Tear Records. I now present you with the techy Stellar Wind Remix as an early Christmas gift. Ever wondered what a distant planet might sound like, one you didn’t even know existed?
Well, here’s your chance...
Welcome to Kazaar-9, a planet light-years away, where the pressure is extreme and the ever-shifting landscape reveals deep caverns filled with stunning crystals formed over millions of years. Life here is resilient, not on the surface, but deep underground.
At Buiten Bereik, a 4-day festival I co-organized, we told a story: a journey through space, visiting a different planet with every DJ set.
I dug deep into my collection for music that captured the feeling of crystals, pressure, and the hidden life below. (Not every day you get your own planet as a DJ, right?)
What you hear in this set is the result, a soundscape built from underground echoes, heavy pressure, and glimmers of light breaking through.
One of the things I always get inspired by as a DJ is trying to incorporate a theme or something of a story. Sometimes I just hear a track or catch a certain feeling, and it sparks something. That’s when ideas start flowing, and I get inspired to make an intro or shape the whole vibe around that, through text, energy, or whatever feels right.

Kazaar-9: Sounds of a distant planet (dj A.Ka @ Buiten Bereik)

(Re)Connect was wonderful again! So many open-minded people, fully into dancing and sharing the vibe. This is the first of two recordings from the festival, captured live on Thursday, 4 September 2025.
That night I played a techno set. It’s not easy to put a label on this style of techno (feel free to share your thoughts!), but some keywords would be: groovy, funky, driving, hypnotic, and psychedelic. When you mix those elements together, you get a playful underground journey built for the dance floor.
I’ve been searching for tracks with this kind of vibe for quite some time, and finally I had the chance to play a full set around it. The open-minded atmosphere at (Re)Connect really invites you to experiment as a DJ, and that freedom makes the whole experience extra special.
Big thanks to everyone who was there and everyone who made (Re)Connect possible. I already miss you all!
