@joanna-oj mutates and transmutes into the sound planets she is fluttering, to create wildly indelible sets. she sows intrigue, from dream to drama, between aerial bubbles, elusive pulsations and seismic bursts. frenetic bass, syncopated breaks, minimal dub, weirdos idm, experimental, futuristic and endless unspeakable sounds, she crunches genres and pieces the whole together with syncretic taste; the result is a sensualizing surprise that explodes in the mouth, blows up the synapses and definitely make your articulations move or high your brain.

q. pls introduce yourself:
a. Hi, my name is Tony, I'm a psychotherapist in NYC who loves making mixes . I also love to make clothing and sometimes my own music. I'm a massive fan of the Living Room series and have been a listener since day one. Very excited to share my mix with you all.

q. is there a story behind the mix? 
a. Every song in this one is very special to me. The mix took a few different shapes until I settled on this sequence. There's a lot of voice, a lot of different languages. There are many stories.

q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix? 
a. This would be best enjoyed on headphones, walking outside. It's best for around 11 am walk, but perhaps the night would be nice as well, haven't tried that yet.

q. describe a favourite object in your living room... 
a. My favorite object right now in my living room is my 1855 Edition of Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, I read it every day and it has become a sort of religion to me.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)? 
a. I'm currently writing a dark fantasy / philosophy novel inspired by Borges and Medieval Christian Mysticism. It's taken most of my time so I'm pretty much only doing that, not working on any music projects at the moment.

Low End Theorists, the Sydney-based audio journal, arrives at FR with a mix brimming with soothing textures and strange but enveloping tones — a warm tribute to the inspiring soundscapes they’ve been shaping through their inspiring Theory Therapy (@theory-therapy) mix series and label since 2021. 

‘Me and Dan recorded this one on a Saturday arvo in my sunroom. We’ve been recording mixes for about 5 years now, so the way we put them together has become pretty intuitive. This one is just a continuation of what we’ve always done – playing music we both love and not overthinking it’.

a. Hi we’re asio and usof from the Living Room crew


q. is there a story behind the mix?
a. We were invited to perform a sleep show by the Ouvido Absoluto crew in Coimbra. We were very excited because playing a sleep set was always something we wanted to do. We've been collecting tracks specifically for an occasion like this for many years. On top of the different tracks we were improvising with a variety of digital instruments, to create an organic canvas of sound that is always moving, but very slowly. The idea of influencing dreams with music is one aspect that we found particularly interesting. So for that reason the set is not always focused on creating comfort, but rather different, sometimes quite alien moods.


q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
a. Sleeping and dreaming.


q. describe a favourite object in your living room…
a. Perhaps the red desk light in Cosmos (technically our living room:). it creates a very cozy atmosphere.


q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
a. The whole Living Room crew is soon set off to play at Waking Life. After that we’ll have a string of events in Lisbon, with the next one being on the 6th of July.

Words float across an empty horizon, neither sending nor responding, like echoes written in the air. The glow fades from every surface as paths stretch endlessly across a silent landscape with no one to witness them. Messages fade into static, leaving only the faint pulse of a forgotten hymn beneath flickering lights. Somewhere between departure and disappearance, something still waits, silent, infinite, as if the void might one day respond.
