Syrup And Honey (JAZZ)

This is a contemporary cover of Janis Joplin's Mercedes Benz, which satirically ridiculed materialism.  I've updated the lyrics to be relevant to the cultural issues facing us today: mainly, intolerance and discrimination.  Instead of exploring "why" one believes a particular belief, many people simply parrot what others have taught them.  I hope we can live in a society where children are given a choice about what to believe.  Only then can we achieve a future without systemic discrimination.

All lyrics and instruments by Kenny Schabow.  Obviously, the core melody is by Janis Joplin.  I used a 12-string Martin through a Fender Twin.  Produced and mixed by Kenny Schabow at Nine Mile Studios in Farmington Hills, MI.
