Yuki Takasaki first appeared on lempuyang in 2022 with a superb pair of tracks which were remixed by Bluetrain & Yagya. He shone again with the track Emergent Structure which featured on the label's second V/A compilation last year, and now provides a fantastic 80 minute journey for our mix series. TM Shuffle is more than just a name in the international dub techno scene. The Finnish producer, DJ, and head of VUO Records has a rare talent for distilling the essence of depth, space, and rhythm into his productions. His music is infused with a hypnotic pulse that doesn’t shout loudly but tells stories subtly – of snow-covered landscapes, quiet nights, and an unwavering love for electronic music. What sets TM Shuffle apart is his uncompromising dedication to reduction. His musical philosophy is not about quantity but quality: less is more. By deliberately limiting himself, he becomes more creative – digging deep, searching intentionally for the right sound, and developing a distinct musical signature. This principle is evident not only in his productions but also in his thoughtfully crafted, driving DJ sets.

He shares this passion off stage as well: as the label head of VUO Records, he provides a platform for other artists who share his vision of dub techno – raw, organic, and timeless.

In a personal conversation with Andre Kronert, TM Shuffle offers insight into his creative workflow and studio philosophy. In a world of unlimited possibilities, he consciously relies on a minimalist setup: turntables, a mixer, a few select synthesizers, drum machines, and a computer for sequencing. Electronic  Convergence - Verdant Session - April 2025

Maidstone-based veteran selector Tomas Bexton - hot on the heels of his recent appearance at our last event @ OverDraught in Levenshulme, Manchester - here delivers his 3rd mix contribution for Avenue Red. This time Tomas is keeping things on the firmer side, with some icy blasts from the past in the world of deep, pulsating abstract techno. Feel the turbulence.

"Obviously delighted and honoured with a third appearance on the musical vortex that is Avenue Red! My intention was to do something different to my other Avenue Red sets and attempt a dub-techno mix. However, this was the result.

I went digging back into my humble techno collection, with some of the records featured purchased when I was still a teenager. Recorded in one take using 100% vinyl, this is about as hard as it gets for me. I hope that it resonates... big love to the global Avenue Red crew!" Tomas Bexton, May 2025

I also love all kinds of eclectic stuff including disco, boogie, Italo, synth pop, nu jazz, jazzdance, lounge, trip-hop, downtempo, dub, reggae, jungle, liquid drum & bass, IDM, electronica, Warp, Ninja Tune etc.

In summer 2013 I set up the Avenue Red (@avenue-red) imprint to push quality material from a wide plethora of DJs and artists who I have particular respect for in terms of their musical output, artistry and dedication to the cause.
