Restless and pensive, looking out from a balcony at an unlit street enveloped in complete silence, Sergio found himself drowning in the hollow night, and in an attempt to combat the loneliness, started composing. “I guess this melody is what I would tell the moon if I could talk to her.”

As is custom for Sergio’s pieces, The Moon Song has an instant sense of nostalgic tenderness — it is a song about sleepless nights, glasses of wine, and unread books next to an unmade bed. Written during that part of the night in which everyone else is sleeping, the piece is an intimate affair; a gentle and at times heavy left hand is contrasted by a trickling, tethering right, playing with altering intensity but immaculate emotion. There’s a tense determination lingering beneath every note, an unanswered question floating in the air, only to be left hanging, as the piece drifts into the comfort of the decision to simply give up for now, and try again tomorrow.

The Moon Song releases on the 14th of May, featuring artwork by French artist Inès Panizzi.

05. THE WALK [MIKE LAZAREV REWORK]

Hi all
Been doing a lot of recording lately, and now Im starting work on my home upright.

Did some trials with mics etc, and I think Im happy with the sound now. Needs maybe some more warmth, and there are of course room sounds.

Hopefully I will start soon recording all my piano pieces like this for online streaming. 

At least, it should work for my tv projects.

For this project, the process was started in Amsterdam. That means that the core-idea project came from https://soundcloud.com/igor-iofe-1 ! Very enjoyable process because my partner has great will to create new material and is also an efficient cooperator that accepts different perspectives, readjust and reconstructs details with the final result as our final goal.

About this composition: One of my favourite parts and maybe the best on the crescendo and breathing has a lot of common elements with the first one but this version is specialized on core base trumpet notes. evolution and final crescendos.
