I Will Follow You Into The Dark (for Ashlie Gough)

It's been high time for GUI BORATTO to endow us with another tasty slice of that enticing pop- infused techno of his: since the last Boratto- helmed offering TOO LATE (KOMPAKT 285) had conquered 2013's floors and beaches, we've seen the Brazilian mastermind occupying himself mainly with bringing his own label D.O.C. into position. Now, the Kompakt stalwart returns with TAKE CONTROL featuring Brazilian duo COME AND HELL, his first original material in 2014 and a perfect tune to ring in the summer.

Fitted with a glitzy array of top-tier remixes, TAKE CONTROL presents itself as a strong addition to GUI BORATTO's back catalogue, revelling in the kind of hook-driven pop techno that we love so much. Again dropping silky vocals on top of a well-oiled club machinery, the new track enlists the help of fellow Brazilians COME AND HELL and is an obvious contender for the pole position in this year's dj crates. A wealth of perfectly cast remixes rounds off the release, featuring intriguing takes on the sophisticated source material.
The first out the door are DJs PAREJA, the two Argentinian daredevils responsible for wrecked floors worldwide, thanks to bold releases on gatekeeper imprints such as Cómeme or Huntleys + Palmers. Their version pairs the original's streamlined vocal with the brutish thump of their other work, sending crowds into a frenzy with the flick of a button. In his revamp, US tracksmith DANNY DAZE teases out a similar amount of propulsion, but finds a different level of cray cray with a break as massive as it is insane. Upcoming Amsterdam hotties WEVAL finalize the package with an irresistibly melodic bassline and epic gauge. Perfect run!

Dave Echo - Live - Unhola 2015 - 2-21

Jaap Ligthart makes his return on MNL for his 3rd single on the label after an absence of nearly two years. It was well worth the wait though because 'Geen Gelul' is a big no-nonsense dancefloor bomb! Jaap is exploring his rougher side here, keeping things grooving and looping in true techno tradition. On remix duties we'll welcome Alessandro Diga back on board the Manual family. He keeps the techno vibe of the original but adds some soundscape and synth layers throughout his interpretation, making it a nice contrast compared to the original.

Speaking of contrasts, the release doesn't end here yet! Jaap has collaborated with Alice Rose, known from her 'each is a DREAM' album and collaborations with artists such as Gabriel Ananda, Paul Hazendonk, Noraj Cue and Ruede Hagelstein. 'Sandy Toes' is a deep and dreamy effort, "eyes closed and drift away" material in true fashion, very classy - and comes in both vocal and dub versions.

Anjunadeep mainstay Jody Wisternoff drops "The Bridge feat. Sian Evans", his first single of 2015 following last Autumn's “Paramour”, a stand out single from the iTunes chart topping ‘Anjunadeep 06’ compilation. 

'The Bridge' is a Wisternoff classic, fusing lush melodic arrangements with dancefloor grooves, with a subtle touch of old school UK sound thrown in for good measure. Sian Evans of Kosheen provides ethereal uplifting vocals. 

Shur-i-kan is on remix duties following his Anjunadeep debut 'My Love' which picked up massive Radio 1 support from Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard earlier this year. He roughs up the melodic arrangement in favour of a clubbier, more dancefloor focused direction.

Definitely, “massive” is the best way to describe this release coming from label boss Andrea Frisina and including a remix of the legendary techno pioneer Joey Beltram ! The original is a masterpiece, a solid techno weapon with an elaborated arrangement, which gives an huge impact to the floor: the whole track is a game of percussions, vocal loops and drums driven by a fat bassline, but amazing and brilliant is the harmonisation of the synths during the pauses as well. The Joey Beltram’s remix is a fresh version, perfect for the summer, it’s really perceptible his imprint in this arrangement as well, which makes it absolutely a monumental track.

For me music is all about emotions. Without them, music would be useless. Therefore I like being able to capture the moment and incorporate it into my track or set that i'm working on. Using it as an outlet. No compromises, no obligations.. just honest emotions.

Martijn van Dijk better known as Alessandro Diga, is a dutch artist living in Breda. His music can be characterized as pigheaded, innovative, bold, vivacious, but most of all melodic. In the past years Diga produced music in different directions, but always melody predominated.

This enabled him to release tracks on labels such as: Manual Music, Inlab Recordings, Perspectives &amp; Cinematique. Which resulted in arrived artists like Nuno dos Santos, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Roland M. Dill, Pig &amp; Dan, Hernan Cattaneo, Laurent Garnier &amp; Moonbeam playing his tracks.

Throughout the years, Alessandro Diga gained a lot of musical experience. Starting with playing the trumpet and the bugle, on a very young age. In his early teens he mastered the guitar and played in a (punk)band. After these musical wanderings, he got sucked into the electronic music scene.

Being towed by his brothers, Alessandro Diga visited a wide range of festivals in the summer of 2007. Which resulted in developing a deep passion for electronic music. After years of hard work and solitary confiment, the reward consisted of releases on various labels and being featured on various compilations.

His first EP named 'Meltdown' (2010), was released by Outside the Box Music. A dutch label by Eelke Kleijn. He received a lot of support by well known artists. The title track made it to the beatport top 100, and was played in 538 Dance Department. In 2011 Alessandro Diga participated in 'De grote prijs van Nederland', and made it to the semi-finals. Not winning this competition encouraged him even more to improve his productions and live-sets.

Diga's releases did not go unnoticed, and gave him the opportunity to play at clubs and festivals. Examples are; Sysophos (Berlin DE), Barkode (Amsterdam NL), Westerunie (Amsterdam NL), Lakedance (Aquebest NL), Fort de Vechten (Bunnik NL), Club Poema (Utrecht NL).
