Growing up in the Death and Black metal scene of North Carolina, James cut his teeth in theatrical production and sound design.Already an accomplished audio engineer, James opened up creatively while scoring a sound heavy and experimental production of 448 Psychosis.Inspired by the dark electronic sound he created for the play, James hit on the moniker MorningStar.Combining his love of such artists as Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Pantera, Excision, Rusko, Skinny Puppy, Venetian Snares and Schpongle, MorningStar presents an organic blend of gothic ambience, psychodelic progression, classical orchestrations, deep bass, world instruments, driving rythyms, and precise beats.Described by Dubstep producer D-Queue as "creative and epic,"MorningStar is a dark and introspective soundscape that ranges from pounding and shredding to trancy and meditative.
