I am very happy about the collaboration with Iranian internet radio Beshknow. I got to know them because they played a number of releases that were put out on raster media, including my last LP, Applied Autonomy.  I asked them if they would be interested in broadcasting a mix of nature, water and glaciers as reference points. And I also asked if there are glaciers in Iran and if it would be possible to get sound from them. I am overjoyed that the members of Beshknow Radio took on the adventure of a five-hour journey to Kholeno Mountain despite the tense pandemic situation in Iran. The photos they sent me illustrate the dramatic situation of the local glaciers. I am also very grateful that an artist I admire very much, Teho Teardo, has contributed an exclusive piece to the mix.  While searching for suitable pieces, I came across an unreleased piece in my archives that my former band to rococo red composed for the exhibition New Ocean by American artist Doug Aitken at the Serpentine Gallery in London. Three pieces of the mix are of course from the book / CD release Glacier Music II, a collaboration of the Goethe Institute Georgia and the label Establishment.Towards the Glacier is from the first Glacier Music CD, it is a collaboration with Kyrgyz master Askat Jetigen. For the first time Beshknow Radio will collaborate with USMARADIO Interdepartmental Research Centre for Radiophonic Studies / San Marino for this broadcast.

As a devotee of nature, Atoloi (@atoloi) explores sound creating a mellow amalgam of layers using over-reverberated synths, field recordings, and self-created samples.
Not choosing the club-oriented way as a first calling, instead, his productions and mixes search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost while getting submerged by heavy-grained noises and evocative instrumental compositions.

Disciples alumni 99LETTERS celebrates his new album Zigoku [地獄] on Phantom Limb with a Bleep mix of underworldly selections. Though Zigoku [地獄] directly translates as 'Hell', the Osaka-based producer's mix is less the Nine Circles of Dante's Inferno but more of an ambient distillation of the fiery environs of his own full length. Burnt away by corrosives, the layers of his selection leave us endless illuminating plains to wander laid down by fellow guides KMRU, Coby Sey, Actress, the late great Ryuichi Sakamoto and 99LETTERS himself of course, in particular on his own beautifully longing cut, Owaranai Osaka (未終大阪).

Ruminating on this mortal coil, 99LETTERS explains:

"I had a story in mind before creating this mix. It all started with the album "Kaibou Zukan/解剖図鑑" released on Disciples. The scenery and images that we see in our lives are just like the photos that appear when we press the shutter of a camera, and music is the story that mysteriously appears in our minds when we listen to a song. Everyone can feel this phenomenon. Life is not only fun, but it can also be painful and sad. In the mix for Bleep, I expressed these crossroads in life in my own way, and combined songs by artists I respect. For me, it's similar to the feeling you get when you're on a train or driving in a car. I hope that everyone can be happy in their own way, and I would be happy if you listen to this mix and let it become a part of your life." - @99-letters
