Lee Scratch Perrys, 70s classic, Soul Fire, was the ignition for the songwriter and singer Vassilis Savopoulos a.k.a Jah Smiley to form Soul Fire, the first reggae band in Greece 21 years ago. After Jah Smiley set up his project studio, he formed this greek based reggae trio comprises, himself, (vocals and guitar) King John (drums) and T Wise (bass). Their live performances reach as far to the early 90s and albeit theyve started by playing cover versions, such as, Chase the Devil by Max Romeo and Soul Rebel by Bob Marley, soon filled their live track listings only with their own deep roots reggae riddims. Since then,they are enjoying the respect of all their greek fans, and they are now considered to be the pioneers of the local reggae scene. God, love, inner self, consciousness and justice could be the keywords for someone searching behind Jah Smileys songs. 2004 is the turning point, for their career. The great producer Mad Professor (Ariwa Records), was surprised to discover such an original reggae band in Greece so he decided to produce their first album. With the co-operation of a so prolific producer, Soul Fire recorded their groundbreaking and critically acclaimed album. Well-known artists participated, like drummer Sinclair, active member of Lee Scratch Perrys band Roboticks. World famous reggae stars singing the backing vocals, like Aisha ,Cofi and Mafia from Mafia&Fluxy plus the MC Fredi Kruga. Soul Fire LP is an exceptional debut for this band,supported by the legenadary reggae producer Mad Professor and all the aforementioned artists.

Kako Synapantima has gradually become an 8-member reggae-dub band. The main feature of the band is their socially- orientated, specifically Greek lyrics, which are consistent with their 15-year career. The members' diverse musical influences are reflected in their reggae music, which is unique and versatile.

Septembre 2010, le quintet Kaly Live Dub présentait Lightin’ The Shadow, un cinquième (et double) album, entre ombre et lumière. Le groupe choisissait d’y affirmer ses influences, doubles elles aussi : une électro mêlée de sonorités hip-hop incisives, de dubstep rugissant, accordée à des vibrations dub roots, dans la lignée de leurs précédentes productions.

￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼(Auriculaire), le groupe enfonce définitivement le clou avec ce sixième opus - Allaxis - fruit de l’expérience live et des influences digérées des musiciens. Déterminé à s’affranchir d’un carcan reggae dub bien trop réducteur, le groupe propose une vision débridée de sa musique. Une ambivalence synthétisée en une essence bien plus rugueuse : cette fois l’ombre a clairement pris le dessus sur la lumière.

Allaxis, titre éponyme qui ouvre l’album, pose clairement les bases : ambiance oppressante sur fond de basse rugissante. Une tension palpable que l’on retrouvera comme un fil rouge tout le long de l’album. Preuve en est, le morceau Chord Note, furie incandescente prête à imploser à tout moment, véritable hydre à 4 têtes nourrie de basses lourdes, de textures menaçantes et d’assauts synthétiques apocalyptiques.
Find us, Pack Ice, No More Dread laissent à leur tour échapper ça et là skanks et autres delays d’une chappe de plomb omniprésente, apportant au projet une teneur toute particulière, entre dub digital et dubstep.

Présent sur 3 des 9 titres, Learoy Green apporte un souffle différent à l’album. Tantôt lancinantes et scandées (Can I make a wish) tantôt chantées, ses interventions contrastent clairement avec le reste de l’album (Run and go hide). Une source de quiétude, une chaleur contrastant avec le côté sombre et abrupt des autres titres comme un clin d’oeil à leurs productions précédentes.

   Lorrd is A Dj,Drummer and Producer from Thessaloniki,Greece.In 1995 he started his involvement with music and especially with his favorite instruments,Drums and Percussions.From 2000 he started dealing with Turtables generating hip hop music at his own Studio "Grab".He was a founding member of the HipHop bands"Katoptro","Antarcia" and "Defenderz" taking particulary the Dj and Music Production place.At the same time he was an active Dj,either  "Scratching " in various underground bands that passed through the Studio "Grab",or as a Selector in many sound systems,bars and live stages in Greece.
  After a five-year involvement with the Rap scene of Thessaloniki mainly,in the spring of 2007 he joins the Greek Reggae-Dub Band "Kako Synapantima" as a Drummer(www.kako-synapantima.blogspot.gr),his old friends from the Hip Hop years.
  Nowdays,he continues to be active as a Dj at various Bars and Sound Systems,Drummer and producer especially on Dub, Dubstep and Trip-Hop sounds.
