My warm-up set from another amazing Raves Of Longton!! Starting with deep Italian and moving into some early UK belters from way back when. And England won!!

Flashback to my college years... Just before the mighty Carl Cox began his Essential Mix world tour for Radio One. That iconic Que Club gig in Birmingham in the mid 90's just when I started to go clubbing properly in Portsmouth to techno events like the famous Geushky. Wall to wall techno was my forte around this time and this is a mix pays homage to that Essential mix broadcast alongside Coxy faves from F.A.C.T.  volumes one and two (with some other of my favourite techno records blended in for the craic)
This time for me was an exciting time and getting hold of these tracks to blend in the mix was great fun. Hope you enjoy!

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
