This month I would like to present prolific techno and electro DJ and producer, and label boss Roi https://soundcloud.com/roi-fanzine from A Coruña, Spain.

I first came across Roi when I bought his Deixo ep on Fanzine back in 2019 and he has been going from strength to strength ever since. I have copies of both his 2025 records, Six Nine on Nachtstrom Schallplatten Germany and most recently his mesmerisingly good Arise ep on No Static/Automatic.

Roi is one of the busiest guys in the underground scene and thankfully shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

For the guest mix, Roi has created a beautiful mix of blissful mellow electro and top-drawer robo-funk for our listening pleasure. It's a real treat. Enjoy!

Two of the heaviest, darkest Electro talents from The Netherlands return to Bass Agenda Recordings on a split EP showcasing their respective approaches to dystopian dance floor demolition.

Long term Bass Agenda family member RXmode's trademark audio tempest building sound is on full display here with some of his best work to date.

On the flipside BS-1 makes his second appearance on the label this year, hot on the heels of his brutal Chaos Engine EP, with one furious assault and one lower BPM dark monolith that will shake the foundations of any building and likely the soul of those who hear it.

URBAN DISTORTIONS is proud to present “Généalogie” EP by Unité November as part of the “Elon Musk: Trilogy”, a conceptual project composed of three EPs, each one released on a different international label.
The “Généalogie” EP is a 5 groovy tacks release of gritty Detroit Electro sound pleasure.

This trilogy undertakes a sonic and symbolic exploration of the Elon Musk phenomenon, dissecting the complex layers of his media-constructed identity.
Each EP reimagines these themes through analog synthesis and industrial textures, evoking a dystopian baroque in which sound becomes the medium for critical reflection on the cult of the entrepreneur in the digital era.

Elon Musk’s image stands at the intersection of futurism, techno-utopianism, and myth-making. He is portrayed simultaneously as an innovator, a provocateur, and a messianic figure in the age of acceleration. Musk occupies a unique space in the contemporary psyche, at once a symbol of hypercapitalist ambition and a vessel for sci-fi fantasies of space colonization, transhumanism, and infinite expansion. His ventures, from electric vehicles and private spaceflight to neurotechnology and A.I., are cast not merely as businesses, but as narratives of salvation or disruption.

The “Trilogy” engages with this image through three thematic lenses:
Généalogie, Idéologie (out soon on Urban Connections), and Economie (out soon on Aztlan Records).
The “Généalogie” EP explores his lineage and legacy, reflecting an obsession with succession, progeny, and the continuity of vision beyond the individual.

Unité November is a French electronic music project that embraces a retro-futuristic aesthetic, shaped by influences from 1980s electro, Electronic Body Music (E.B.M.), and industrial soundscapes.
Based in the suburbs of Paris, the project’s sonic identity is meticulously crafted using analog synthesizers exclusively. Its visual presentation, which includes bespoke camouflage garments, reflects a conceptual alignment with both Italian Futurism and the French Foreign Legion. Unité November has released multiple EPs through a range of independent labels, including Marasm, Magnetic Netlabel, Urban Connections, Hoodwink Records, and Nawal Records.

Boom Merchant ignites the floor with ‘Smoke’ on Tribal Pulse’s 50th release

Tribal Pulse is hitting the big five-oh, and Boom Merchant’s back to set it off in style. His latest cut ‘Smoke’ does exactly what it says on the tin: thick, rolling techno built for low ceilings, strobes, and sweat-soaked 3 a.m. sessions.

The Irish-born, Mexico-based producer has been steering Tribal Pulse since day one, and this milestone compilation Manufacturers of Modern Dancefloor Weaponry proves the label’s still pushing the underground forward. The release pulls together an international crew of groove-makers, from Obsidian Wave and Fragile X to Lefrenk and Homma Honganji, each twisting their own brand of tribal-fuelled techno heat.

Boom Merchant’s ‘Smoke’ comes loaded with warehouse grit and hypnotic drive. The percussion pounds with precision, the bassline hums with menace, and the whole thing feels like it was built to test the limits of a Funktion-One. You can practically feel the fog machine kicking in.
