Labels like Red Light Records continue to pave the way for drum & basses underground with every dystopian slammer they unleash onto their extensive fan base. Whether it’s in the darkest depths of Europe’s club circuit, or at the 174bpm meccas of large-scale festivals like Let it Roll, Red Light Records continues to set a standard often missed by its more commercial counterparts. For their next single, they’ve enlisted their roster heavyweight Tobax, a Russian connoisseur who’s relentless in his engineering, producing cut after cut of nastily manufactured chaos. 

‘Tooth Pain’ and it’s equally aggressive flipside ‘Balanced’ proves that the internationally renowned artist continues to slay in the studio as well as behind the decks. On first listen, you become instantly aware why his latest releases have won the admiration of revered figures such as Noisia, June Miller, Ed Rush, A.M.C. and Mefjus, with a meteoric ascent which started in 2010 under a different pseudonym. Focusing on the harder side of drum & bass with a mix of stunningly intricate atmospherics and composite layering, he’s pushed boundaries since he was first enlisted into the genre’s most esteemed neurofunk labels. 

‘Tooth Pain’ moves out on rumbling stabs, quaking subs and foreboding spikes of synth. You’re lead from an ominous snippet of vocal into a clattering drop of epic proportions, rolling your head first into a chasms of crashing, undiluted noise. Each distorted pulse of sonic pushes you into a flurry of punching bass notes, before you’re dragged beneath its chopping waves and expertly constructed layers. Tobax does what he does best, throwing you without constraint into a bassline current which is impossible to remove yourself from.

‘Balanced’ is a collaboration alongside a producer who’s well-known for his contribution to drum & bass powerhouse Gyrda. Mizo adds his powerful, brooding production standard to Tobax’s unadulterated call-to-arms signature, flexing a musicality which is as intimidating as it is all-encompassing. Together, they continue to bring the pain for Red Light Record’s next release. And it proves the label’s scope in selecting the fiercest contributors to help extend their increasing back catalogue of music. Once again, Red Light Records prove to be unstoppable.

Following the hugely successful debut of our ‘Dispatch Dubplate’ label, with the first two vinyl releases selling out across all stores, we're proud to welcome #3 in the series, led predominantly by label favourite DLR. Much like the previous Dubplates, each vinyl will showcase a thicker set 180 grams in weight, hand numbered (1 – 300), hand-stamped, signed, with an added label sticker pack with all 300; never to be re-pressed.

Setting off the release, we're pleased to release our most in-demand dub from the past year; the mighty Break & DLR rework everyone has waited for – “Murmur VIP”. With the original first appearing in 2012 on Octane & DLR's “Method In The Madness” album, the Break & DLR VIP has revitalized the initial buzz of an already popular track, in spectacular fashion. Causing havoc on dancefloors worldwide, it has already seen heavy rotational support by Friction on his BBC Radio 1 show (with 6 plays on the show in total to date).

In addition, we present a new, original track from DLR; the immaculately detailed “Regeneration”. This drops us right back to the late 90s with a cosmic vibe that pays homage to the Virus / Konflict era, brought right up to date. Although delivered in a superbly tight, modern construct, it never loses its old school essence and authenticity. This release features two versions of the track, the “Generated Mix” is exclusive to the vinyl format, whilst the gnarly “Metamorphosis Mix” also features as a digital only bonus, both offering a very different take on a track that (in its original form) was never planned or set to surface, so we felt it fitting for this to appear on the Dispatch Dubplate label.

Completing the Dubplate comes the second re-work of the release, as “Tugboat” receives the remix treatment, with “The Moneyshot VIP” appearing on both vinyl and digital formats. A new take on DLR’s solo Dispatch single from 2013, the VIP is nothing short of a huge re-work and a complete re-invention of the original, taking a much more stepping dance floor approach from start to finish.

This release features a vinyl only track “Regeneration (Generated Mix)”. This will not be available in digital format at all. Vinyl buyers will be able to download all the other tracks, however this dubplate exclusive mix will never be available in any other format.

Each vinyl purchase will receive free 320kbps mp3 & wav files of all the available digital tracks. These will only become available to download on the Friday before general release and no sooner – this is the 20th of March as general release date is the 23rd March.

Elevated far above the streets in one of the towering high-rise buildings that dominated the urban heart, the sound of the high-octane pursuit below barely penetrated the bleak musty cubical. Its cigarette-stained walls are etched with the marks he’d made to signify the passing of his life in this space. The ever-present hum of building’s servers that once he’d thought faintly pleasant, oppressively penetrated his eardrums - continually evolving… scraping the inside of his brain like sonic sandpaper. Flickering lights from the city’s exterior advertisements strobed across the dark sea of cubicles, the huddled occupants of each fixated on the faint glow of their viewscreens, their enslaved minds pouring over the flow of a sea of meaningless data. The lights hurt his eyes these days, each wave illuminating his dank space peaked his migraine – like shards of glass penetrating deep into the roots of his skull and twisting within his cortex on the way. He was at the edge, hovering on the very horizon of sanity itself… the boundary blurring – what was more insane – this existence? Or the one he desired – to tear himself free from the bonds of this reality… for his heart to burn with the light of a thousand stars as he steered his body towards the purity of presence outside of this slavery… to defy the great architect and stand proud just for a moment… Just as this thought manifested, he felt the tight grip upon his shoulder - briskly pulling him around to see the corrupt, fat, distorted face of the overseer sneering down through that twisted crevice of a mouth. Those chains broke – he felt his hand grasping the keyboard that he had been so long manacled to in his mind, moving with the rotation of the chair as he rose swiftly with the roar that escaped him so fluidly. The overseer’s shocked expression froze in time as the keyboard collided with his mouth – landing with such brutal force that the shockwave passed through his fat face. With that roar, he felt free… he had found himself.
 
SEGMENT & CONCEPT VISION follow up their incredible MAMMOTH EP with their 2nd impressive outing on neurofunk’s leading label, EATBRAIN. Proving once more the exceptional skill of their combined production with the 5 heavy-duty tracks of the ROAR EP (including free release with the vocal-led ‘EMPIRE’), the pair set the bar high through their powerful sound. Whether it’s the stuttering might of title track ROAR with its nightmare fueled arpeggios, or the dub-influenced sci-fi majesty of THIRST (featuring COD3X) - each track proves more relentless than the last. This is tear-out neurofunk at its best, proving once again the strength of the EATBRAIN sound and cementing another incredible pair of Russian producers within the roster.

Offensive is the B2B project between Jahh Roland and Naxon, who have been pushing Drum & Bass in Malta together since 2016.

They are the two main lads behind MIB Crew MT, and been tearing dance floors apart all over the island and around Europe together. When playing together they usually entertain with an eclectic mix of Drum n Bass with a focus on the deep, dark and murky type of sounds from both future and past.
