This is composed solely of musical recordings of variable quality that I made during a tour of southern Spain in 2023;  a National Day event in the square in Madrid, a religious parade through the streets of in Granada, a Flamenco show in Seville and the organ (and ambience) of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. I made a rough assembly last year, disliked it and left it. I’ve warmed to it, a bit – it’s now framed by the flamenco school recorded in Seville. All have been slightly treated/enhanced to varying degrees during the mixing process.

ეზოში მოთამაშე ბავშვებმა ამოიხედეს.

წყალი მომთხოვა და
ჩაიდნის ღარიდან დავალევინე.

წინდას იცვამს.
გალიაში ჩიტბატონები ჟივჟივებენ.
ფანჯარა ღიაა და ყველანი მზეს ვუცქერით.

შიშველ სხეულზე ხალათი მოიცვა და
იატაკს გვის.
მე თმის ღერებს ვაცლი ბალიშს.

მარაოს მინიავებს და
ძუძუები უთრთის.
ვენტილიატორი იქვე დგას.

საკუთარი ხელით ვაჭმევ.

ბიუსტჰალტერს შემოუარა.

ძველებური საათის ქანქარა
ჩვენს რიტმს აყვა,
ჩამორჩა და ბოლოს გაუსწრო.

მესამე დღეა წვიმს.
ფანჯარაში ვიყურები.
აბაზანიდანაც წყლის ჩხრიალი ისმის.

ჭუჭრუტანიდან შემოსული მზის სხივი
ჩვენს სხეულებზე გადასრიალდა და
დაკეტილ კარს მიაწყდა.

I imagined a walk in the woods, which starts out blissfully enough and then ends in darkness and a tangle of aggressive branches and unseen monsters. Hence the cheery sequence, all in C major, that starts off the track which then begins to break down, first with a bit of dissonance before being completely taken over by a low drone that takes the hapless walker into the dark lodge of their dreams. All this was done in Logic, using Arturia's "mallets" plug in and granular effects.

Disquiet Junto Project 0681: Drama Course
The Assignment: Record a piece of music to transform a walk or a run into something theatrical.

I started with a bassline and had a kind of wet step drum. I wanted the bass and drums to swell on and off, two people chasing each other and stopping to look around. The main motif that builds up depicts the chaser getting closer and closer. All but the mastering is done in my old trusted caustic app.
