Track 5, "The Theatre of Passing Clouds", in my work-in-progress album "New Beginning": spontaneously composed, played, arranged, edited and recorded by Alex M in GarageBand iOS and in Logic Pro in the evening of 7 November 2023, with a final mix in Logic Pro in the evening of 8 November 2023; posted on SoundCloud on 8 November 2023 (before the release of the album as a whole).

The album artwork cover, also used as the cover of each constituent track, was created in PowerPoint and annotated in Mac OS Preview on 19 July 2023 (and 5 January 2024, changing the year from 2023 to 2024 in the brackets of the album title).

Hello everyone! It's been a while. I'm happy to share with you my latest project, The Shimmering.  The Shimmering is an album that is dedicated and serves as a tribute to the old-school RPG Ahriman's Prophecy, developed by Aveyond Studios (formerly Amaranth Games) and released on March 7, 2004. It's a game I rather enjoyed back in my childhood  years and I always wanted to compose some music inspired by it. In this album I'm I am returning to my foundational pursuits in the composition of ambient music. It contains shorter dreamy tracks with more emphasis on atmospheric ambience. Enjoy~

But little did she know. The ancient trees murmured of a prophecy in the rustle of their leaves, and the wind whispered of trials yet to come.That fateful dawn, fate moved. In that irrevocable turning, Talia's destiny unfurled like a banner in the gale , sending her in an epic journey across Aia."

Thirteen Demons of the Seventh Circle,
A battle grimly foreseen by the Travelling Prophets of the Old World.
The minds of the Greats did gander and unfurl.

Four Golden Knights of the Heavenly Kingdom,
Ten Demons of the Seventh Circle,
A hellish sentiment of the New World is born anew; worries of the Unholy Bridge—
‘Twas told White Nights a-coming and thus the Missionaries of the gaping White Ridge.

Three Golden Knights of the Heavenly Kingdom,
Eight Demons of the Seventh Circle,
A somber conclusion awaits— but blessed are the people of the Forever-Lands.
“Ne’er forever” some’d say, and unlocked their rugged hands.

Two Golden Knights of the Heavenly Kingdom,
Four Demons of the Seventh Circle,
A rally of women and men conjoin against the a-coming of the White Nights,
And yet efforts prove futile as the Greats begin flight.

The last Golden Knight of the Heavenly Kingdom,
The final Demon of the Seventh Circle,
A clash so austere ev’ry thump were felt in the flesh of the cowards.
“Sunwards”, they said, and begun their trek in fear of the o so hollow White Ridge.

And at last, the final Demon grabs his brothers’ hand,
The ground shakes and the Martyrs cast their Sand,
The New World has come, and ‘tis a black land.

But as the Sun begins to drip black;
The trees begin to drop their leaves;
The Greats begin their prayers;
And the first White Night begins and seethes

A royal mage appears. Not of this Land, not of this this World …
But a remnant our great past.
With one cast of Sand, the White Night fades;
With one dire wave, our World returns;
With one great hand, the Rubber Mage shows us the Eternal Glimpse
And the Seventh Circle closes for the final time.

O the Rubber Mage, show us again!

The Rubber Mage

I have always admired music, of diverse styles. Like most of us, I have tried learning to play a few instruments at a basic level in my teenage. But it is only now, in the 21st century, that modern software allows anyone to fool around being the composer, the designer of a whole composition, simpler or more complex, organising together the parts of the various instruments - and to hear the results of this experimentation or inspiration instantly! That is how I have recently begun enjoying the distraction of attempts at composing during my leisure, discovering an amazing dimension of life, and art, perhaps the most intangible, heightening and hypnotising one, and the closest to the soul...
