The Other Side I

I start a new project from scratch. I try to mix my progressive rock influences with electronic sound to create a kind of original mix. It is quite difficult to select a specific genre for me but I hope to create a good feeling to my listener.

Are wrapped up in the wildest schemes.
A couple of ecstasy and a bottle of rum.
And, oh my days.
I'm never gonna leave this place.
Not even in lost disgrace.
I'll never get home.

This town floats by...
With many a prying spy.
The awkwardest of evil eyes.
But, the knives are out blunt.
Oh, I decry your sanity.
I missed out on all of the gravity.
I couldn't stand your rabbiting on.

All my dreams...
Contain the briefest glance at things.
The drabbest colours you could think of conjuring up.
And all the ways are blocked by blockers. 
People chase. 
The loudest knockers always win.
They won't let you in.

This town floats by...
The smack rats outside of the cafe cry,
and join the seaguls.
In the night, the noise carries on.
Oh, I despise your brevity.
Fake eye spy.
What was left for me?
A bitter lonely walk.
Towards your home.

All my dreams...
Will not amount to hills of beans.
The scales are tipping toward the mean.
Seems gravity won.
And, oh my days 
Can't even think of trying to place.
A donkey in a first-class race.
I'll never get home.

The summer wards off evil eyes.
A vestibule, in which resides.
This place we belong.
Oh, I despise your currency.
Take away all of your love for me.
All that's left is...

All My Dreams

This started as a group of 5 loops, all increasing in intensity, for a game made for the pirate game jam on itch.io.  

I really loved the hook when I made it and I knew I wanted to use it in something but it sat alone for a few months as just 4 bars and a basic drum track while I worked on other projects.  I felt like doing a boss battle theme and decided to finish it up when the opportunity for the game jam appeared.
