Nordic Folk/indie from the forest of Gothenburg,  next to the salty sea in Sweden.
Castlewoods is a band on fire ready for adventure.
The upcoming album was recorded in Music A Matic, Studio Oodion in Gothenburg. To be released this autumn 2016!! Stay tuned!

Most of the early demosongs were recorded in a one room apartment.

Linsey Pollak is well known all around Australia as a musician, instrument maker, composer, musical director and community music facilitator. He has toured his solo shows extensively in Europe, Nth America and Asia since 1996.

He established The Multicultural Arts Centre of WA and has co-ordinated five Cross-cultural Music Ensembles in three different States. He has also performed at most major Festivals around Australia and recorded 31 albums (solo & with various groups). He has devised many large Festival pieces such as “BimBamBoo!! (Woodford and Brisbane Festivals) and “Sound Forest” (Qld Music Festival) and also collaborated on many Music / Theatre projects around Australia (currently - “Falling Like a Bird” and “This Little Life”).

He has worked as a musical instrument maker for 40 years and has designed a number of new wind instruments as well as specialising in woodwind instruments from Eastern Europe (having studied Macedonian bagpipes in Macedonia).

Linsey has a reputation for making and playing instruments made from found objects such as rubber gloves, carrots, watering cans, chairs, brooms and bins. First developed in his solo show “Bang it with a Fork” and further in the acclaimed children’s show “Out of the Frying Pan”, this line of musical inventiveness has ultimately led him to spearhead Live Looping and develop his solo shows such as “Knocking on Kevin’s Door”, “Playpen”, “The Art of Food”, "Making Jam", “Cycology” and “Passing Wind”.

Linsey’s current musical projects include his new solo show “Live & Loopy”,  Eurobeat duo "Slavka & Zivko" with Nadia Sunde, Outdoor Water based Extravaganza "The Dream of Zedkat Nabu", “This Little Life” with Mark Bromilow, World music duo “Dva” with Tunji Beier, MalletKat trio "KatSkan",  and the Community Balkan Gypsy style street band "The Unusual Suspects".

In 2020 the Voice Collector re-appeared during the time of Covid 19 (one of the many symptoms of an ailing Planet, of an ecosystem trying to adjust). Deeply concerned by the state of the warming Planet, the 6th Extinction crisis and feeling a deep melancholia about the diminishing possibility of the survival of the human species he decided to collect the answers to 3 questions:
1. What do we need to do to stop Global warming, environmental degradation and the 6th extinction crisis.
2. What do I need to do to help stop Global warming, environmental degradation and the 6th extinction crisis.
3. What specific actions will I take to help stop Global warming, environmental degradation and the 6th extinction crisis.

The recorded answers to these questions are then used by the Voice Collector to create music tracks that he shares online. These tracks you can listen to right HERE on this Soundcloud page. They will be added as they are created.

This is part of his life work (and the work of the previous Voice Collector) that sets out to record audio time capsules of certain aspects of human existence such as our ability to dream of the future, to reflect on the past, to empathise, to connect with and understand the natural world, to express grief, to express joy and to understand our place in the world and our own footprint on that world.
