Next up on Play Pal they present and welcome for the first time, to Logical Rec. label honchos Ivan De La Rouch & Mike Sacchetti with their EP 'Cúrame', Spanish for ‘Heal Me’, which is certainly a product of its time in an uncertain world.

And for the first remix they have, also for the first time, to Amarcord, who keeps the guitars in his spin on 'Cúrame' or 'Curami' as he re-recorded the vocals in his native Italian tongue, but adding his own proto, rhythmic analogue inspired spin on affairs, with more ethereal synths, shifting the EBM down slightly and twisting up the synth lines to dramatic effect.

Not so long ago, Argentinean Poulper (SXDNS146) and Lithuanian Aurum Miles joined forces to launch the promising label Quixotical Records, an upsurging platform driven by Disco and Techno influences infused with EBM flashes and Electro pieces.

For the forthcoming release of the already respected imprint, they bring you Ludviq, the head of Mexico-based label Bonkers. His "Disease" EP delivers two well-constructed originals and four alluring remixes made with love by Random Atlas (SXDNS155), MAN2.0 (SXDNS081), Chinosynth, and Poulper himself.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere was cooked by beloved-by-all duo Random Atlas. The Chileans based in Berlin took "Disease" to their lab and, using a fine-tuned combination of dark science and black magic, delivered a biting and pungent version. These guys never disappoint, either with their absurd originals or hot collaborations, their output is second to none. Here, for instance, they brought the solid original a more aggressive and menacing mood, filling it with eerie synth FXs and a more robust bassline. Kudos!

The four walls of her bedroom had become her sanctuary, it was all she'd known for the past year, and now the outside world seemed scary. A vast unknown that had once fed her needs and desires; it now fed the opposite, forcing her to stay inside away from reality. 'Things would get back to normal', she'd tell herself, but she was unsure if she truly believed it.

Madrid's Play Pal Music return with another edition of their Pal's compilation, enlisting label mates and artists from across the world for a 10-tracker that showcases the dark, punkish and cosmic sounds at the core of their output. Set for release on 16th July, the release is packed full of new music from the likes of Aural Trace, Leo af Ekenstam, Stockholm Syndrome and Manner Of Speaking, who closes out the compilation with 'The Unknown': a sonic commentary on the last year that fuses low slung guitar licks with emotive synth work.

Russian Chandeliers is Niko Rapsis (FringeSociety, Modern Ruin) and Julian Grefe (Pink Skull, Clean Plate). Originally hailing from Athens and Philadelphia respectively, the duo met in 2014 in Berlin… where they both still reside and share a studio space. Their collaborative project, sprung from a mutual love of all things unsavory and unfun, saw its inaugural release on New Yorks SAMO records. For their follow up on Esthetique, these two dapper lifers offer up an EP of paranoid, muscular analog grooves fit for filthy basement ragers.

Remy Gallet aka Quasar has been making some serious movements in the dubstep scene of late, with radio support from the likes of J:Kenzo on his acclaimed Rinse show. Here he blesses Foundation Audios new 10” hand stamped series FAVX with 2 sought after riddims that have been doing damage in the dance since their creation. 
A side ‘It’s Over VIP’ is a flip of the classic Portishead tune ‘Biscuit’ - and boy oh boy has he done the original justice and then some!!! The track is full of rolling basslines and percussion. Odd vocal snips from the original give space to an otherwise relenting track that has got classic written all over it.
B side ‘Unrealistic Voices’ with fellow Frenchman Ourman is a moodier affair with its head nodding sub bassline and eastern string melody. Full system pressure from front to back. 
Quasar and Foundation Audio have pulled out all the stops on this release. Debut records don’t come much better than this, so hat’s off to Remy for this killa plate.

1) Tiga feat. Zyntherius - Sunglasses At Night

This track takes me right back to when I first started mixing techno, it was the 'go to' track for a change of pace and style. Only later did I find out about the original which became a guilty pleasure. This version of it though takes the best part of the vocal and strips it back, the drums and synth are perfect, nothing complex, just right. Check out the official video on youtube, LIPS.

2) Clouds - Those Cracks In Your face, Do They Hurt?

The vocal sample here is what does it for me. I mean the percussion, production, structure and that soaring synth/noise that builds around 3 minutes are all executed so well but the vocal sample elevates it to classic status.

3) Proxy - Who Are You - Pilo Remix

Well, this track is just disgusting. It takes me straight to a warehouse rave, shoves some pills down my throat and sets me off on a dancing mission, one of those dancing missions where your legs pay the price, for weeks. Pilo may have even out-filthed Proxy with this one.
