Lindisfarne has always held a special fascination for my wife and I, so it is no surprise to me that I would eventually create some music about it. Hopefully you can be swept away by the music but not the tide ;-)

Background
Ever since 635, when King Oswald gave the Holy Island of Lindisfarne to St Aidan to establish his monastery, the island has been a place of pilgrimage. The road was not constructed until 1954 and until then the vertical poles were the only indicators of the safe route between the mainland and island. The sight of the poles stretching across the sand and mud is one of the most iconic views in Northumberland and to walk the route away from the road and follow in the footsteps of our medieval ancestors is a wonderful experience.

With 'The Pilgrims Way', there was actually very little research involved. Lindisfarne was a place both my wife and I loved and it was really created from a simple low whistle melody. I also included 'Foley' sounds to help in the immersion for the listener. Having got some initial positive feedback from some musical friends, I decided to try and create a series of pieces based around Lindisfarne. Given it's history and unique natural setting, there seemed plenty of material to go at.

Bruno Cadillon (https://soundcloud.com/bruno-cadillon-847608847) proposed to me to write the lyrics turning into a song an instrumental track I had just uploaded to Soundcloud (Timelines, here: https://soundcloud.com/michele-ansani/timelines-final-draft). 
And here we have the song (see also https://soundcloud.com/bruno-cadillon-847608847/comment-fais-tu-ca-michele-ansanicab): is dedicated to Pierre Bonnard, a French painter (1867-1947) of the Nabis group, a post-impressionist movement. 
Thanks to Bruno - the piece is sung by him -, a true and versatile artist.

Dozing off...

My newest track that I hope it will help at least some people sleep better. Meant to be a way to bring hope and maybe a bit of joy.

 A one take like I already got you all used to. And No! it's not a brag, it's sheer stupidity 😊 with a mix of randomness and a hint of the believe that my instinct would dominate somewhat my 30+ of being a classical concert pianist and yes a piano bar performer, even a singer/pianist for a while performing  a Haydn Piano Concerto from Ateneul Roman, the main concert hall in Bucharest at 9 years old, to the Marriot Hotel at 18; to upscale bars, Michelin Restaurants, Rock Clubs and so on.


Even with having a long journey in this beautiful world that music is, that art is, I feel there's no end in advancing and always there's something to learn. Every day.

Someone asked me recently ( a non-musician) if I still have anything to learn? And the first answer was a boring yes, and then I said that's the beauty of art, cause art, without possibly being quantified, analysed( I know I know, many will beg to differ), or dissected it has endless possibilities. It's like the universe. Like math in a way. Without borders.

I wrote a lot. I know. Possibly I have bored you...
